The Team Leader will perform core contingency tasks such as document review and verification, while also supervising and managing the Contingency L1 team. They will provide guidance and support to team members and act as the primary escalation point for issues.

Responsibilities:
- Perform all core contingency tasks handled by Contingency L1 specialists, including document review, verification, and filing.
- Review security and loan-related documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with requirements.
- Verify client-provided documents during the account creation process.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of account closing documents.
- File security documents with appropriate governmental entities.
- Support other departments with document requests and record-keeping.
- Supervise and manage Contingency L1 team members to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and daily support to L1s on complex or unclear cases.
- Act as the primary escalation point for issues, exceptions, and process-related concerns.
- Review L1 outputs and provide feedback to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in onboarding and training new Contingency L1 team members.
Requirements
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience handling US Loan or Mortgage tasks, preferably in a contingency or post-closing function.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Liens
- Deed of Trust
- Vesting
- HELOC Refi, Contingency experience is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and support team members.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency, speed, and accuracy in written communication.
- Excellent verbal English skills with clear diction and professional fluency.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience using customer communication tools, task management systems, Google Drive, and email.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience in financial services.
