The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing US tax provision and compliance workpapers and initiating tax payments. They also support tax audits, R&D credit processes, and tax planning initiatives.
Overview
Reporting directly to the Senior Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will prepare the US tax provision and US tax compliance workpapers as well as initiate all tax payments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the quarterly and annual income tax provision computations
- Support the federal and state income tax compliance processes to ensure adherence to deadlines; review tax returns, tax payments, and claims for refund
- Stay current with income tax compliance and accounting requirements and developments
- Support IRS and state income tax audits, appeals of tax assessments, and responses to federal and state taxing authority information requests and notices
- Manage the Research and Development credit work process with external services providers and internal stakeholders
- Support Sr Director, Tax/Senior Tax Manager in tax planning/strategy initiatives and analysis
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- CPA is desirable
- 0-1 years income tax accounting and domestic tax compliance; experience in public accounting or with a multinational corporation, preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of tax accounting concepts under ASC 740
- Experience with SAP and ONESOURCE Tax Provision a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of an organization
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment with a wide diversity of colleagues
- Willingness to learn
Travel:
Occasional travel; 10%
