During mock semester—a simulation of student activities before launch—the Student Project Assistant will serve as a student subject-matter expert (SME) for assigned processes, helping other student participants navigate activities and sharing questions and feedback with the project team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Aid Review and Feedback

  • Review student-facing Workday Student job aids and step-by-step instructions for clarity, accuracy, and ease of use.
  • Follow documented steps in the designated project environment to help verify that instructions and screenshots align with the student experience.
  • Identify confusing language, missing steps, unfamiliar terminology, and opportunities to make materials more student-friendly.
  • Document feedback and collaborate with the project team to review updates.

Testing Support

  • Participate in Workday Student testing as needed, following assigned scenarios and instructions.
  • Complete assigned student activities and document results, including unexpected outcomes or difficulty completing a task.
  • Report issues with sufficient detail for project team review, including steps taken and screenshots when appropriate.
  • Retest assigned activities after updates and communicate whether issues have been resolved.

Mock Semester and Peer Support

  • Attend training and preparation sessions to develop familiarity with assigned Workday Student processes.
  • Help prepare for mock semester by reviewing participant instructions and practicing assigned activities.
  • Serve as a peer resource and student SME during mock semester, helping other students understand instructions and navigate assigned tasks.
  • Recognize when a question or issue requires project team assistance and escalate it to the appropriate team member.
  • Capture recurring questions, challenges, and feedback to inform improvements to training materials and student communications.
  • Participate in debrief sessions and share recommendations from a student perspective.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Berklee and eligible for student employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Clear communication skills and a willingness to assist fellow students.
  • Comfort learning new technology and explaining steps to others.
