What we need

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Backend Automation team within our Software Engineering organization. Your job will be to lead the development and execution of automation solutions that validate Symbotic software across customers, sites, and releases. This role will help drive software quality, improve release confidence, and support the continued growth of Symbotic's automation platform.

What we do

The Backend Automation Team is part of the Software Engineering organization which is responsible for developing and validating the software that powers Symbotic's automation platform. The team ensures software quality across customer deployments, site configurations, and product releases through automated testing frameworks, continuous integration processes, and scalable validation solutions.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for the Backend Automation team.

  • Lead efforts to validate Symbotic software across customers, sites, and releases.

  • Coordinate work across team members to ensure project priorities and deliverables are met.

  • Create and manage Jira work items to support team objectives and engineering requests.

  • Assign work across engineers and provide technical guidance on automation initiatives.

  • Resolve day-to-day technical challenges and drive improvements in testing and automation processes.

  • Partner with management to establish priorities and support the execution of team goals.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience testing complex software systems.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience developing automation solutions.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architectures.

  • Experience working in a dynamic Agile development environment.

  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Gherkin, SpecFlow, or Reqnroll.

  • Extensive experience developing software in C#.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $149,000.00 - $204,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
