Sr. Manager / Director, Balance & Emerging Products

MoneyGram — Digital (MGO) — Remote-Friendly

About MoneyGram

MoneyGram is one of the most trusted names in global payments, serving over 50 million customers a year across 200+ countries through nearly 500,000 retail locations and a rapidly expanding digital platform. We process billions annually and are in the middle of one of the most compelling transformations in global fintech.

We are moving beyond send and receive. On our new app infrastructure, MoneyGram is becoming a multi-product financial super-app – bringing together money transfer, balance, bill pay, mobile top-up, and marketplace offers into a single, seamless digital experience. Balance is the newest of those products, the least proven, and the one we most need to get right.

The Opportunity

Millions of customers use MoneyGram Online to send money. Now they can use MoneyGram for so much more – including Balance, our stored-value account, which is live, early and not yet adopted at the rate it should be.

The Director of Balance & Emerging Products owns the business side of everything MoneyGram Online does that is not money transfer: Balance, Domestic and International Bill Pay, and Mobile Top-Up. Balance is the priority. Your first job is to work out who it is for, why they are not using it, and what has to change — then prove it with a cohort that repeats and build the go-to-market motion that scales it.

This is not a product role. Product leads own the roadmaps. This is the commercial seat: market selection, pricing, adoption and the cohort economics that tell us whether growth compounds. If you think in LTV and stacked cohorts, and you have taken a consumer financial product from early to working, this is an opportunity to launch something zero to one on top of a customer base most fintechs spend years trying to build.

What You Will Do

Cross-Product Growth

  • Own the business strategy for Balance, Domestic Bill Pay, International Bill Pay and Mobile Top-Up, partnering with each product lead.
  • Identify where customers are dropping off or not adopting additional products, and work with product and CRM to address friction.
  • Represent the customer perspective in product prioritization discussions — connecting roadmap decisions to retention and ARPU outcomes.
  • Partner with the Global CRM and Marketing leads to design lifecycle journeys, cross-sell campaigns, and re-engagement programs.
  • Primary early focus will be launching our new flagship product Balance – defining the business model, diagnosing current adoption challenges, and building the first cohorts of customers.

Market Selection & Go-to-Market

  • Choose and sequence launch markets for each emerging product, and defend the choice on customer behavior, competitive set, regulatory requirements and cost to serve.
  • Design the launch playbook – positioning, funding methods, partnerships, lifecycle messaging — and make it repeatable market to market.
  • Work with local market leads and Retail to use what MoneyGram already knows about these customers.

Pricing

  • Own pricing strategy for Balance and the broader emerging product suite, setting and testing it with the Pricing team.
  • Build the model that connects pricing to adoption, retention and contribution, including where we give up fee revenue to win the relationship and drive higher money transfer engagement.
  • Track competitive positioning in each priority market.

Cohorts, LTV & Measurement

  • Own the analytical frameworks – cohort retention, multi-product adoption curves, LTV and ARPU by segment and market.
  • Build the models yourself and use them to decide where to invest and where to stop.
  • Partner with Global CRM to turn strategy into lifecycle journeys, cross-sell campaigns and in-app placement, and own the loop from results back to strategy.
  • Present performance and recommendations to senior leadership.

Who You Are

Experience

  • 5-8 years in consumer fintech, remittance, digital financial services or an adjacent consumer business.
  • Has taken a consumer financial product or remittance market from early adoption to repeatable growth, with specific cohort results you can speak to.
  • Track record of improving customer retention, increasing ARPU, or driving multi-product adoption – with specific, measurable results.
  • Experience with stored value, wallets, cards or accounts – you understand how these products earn and what makes customers fund them, preferred.

Capabilities

  • Analytical – comfortable with cohort analysis, LTV modeling, and engagement metrics; can build the framework, not just read the dashboard.
  • Strategic – can identify which customer segments and product combinations represent the largest opportunity, and build a credible plan to capture it.
  • Collaborative – works effectively with product, CRM, and marketing teams without needing to own them; earns influence through quality of thinking.
  • Clear communicator – can present a retention strategy to a CFO and write a CRM campaign brief in the same week.

Why MoneyGram, Why Now

MoneyGram has a customer base most fintech companies spend years trying to build – financially underserved consumers with real, recurring financial needs and an existing reason to trust us. We have the platform, the product suite and the intent to serve them far more deeply than we do today. Balance is the clearest expression of that and the least figured out. This role is a rare opportunity to be at the center of that transformation: building the playbook for how MoneyGram grows from a transaction company into a financial relationship company. If that challenge excites you, we’d like to talk.
