The Senior Director Finance, M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) is responsible for driving strategic acquisitions from end to end, developing and defining Finance integration strategies and leading and executing Integration project plans (Systems, Staffing and Processes). Analyzes target acquisition to develop appropriate financial targets for EBITDA and Growth through an understanding of key operational drivers. Models synergies and dis-synergies and tracks ongoing performance vs. Plan.

The individual in this position requires exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. The individual must demonstrate the ability to embrace and drive change throughout all phases of the acquisition lifecycle. The individual will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate cross functionally, effective project management and excellent communication and presentation skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Act as a trusted advisor for all things Finance: Serve as an ultimate source of truth on financial data including M&A Models and Business Plans and has analytical data readily available to guide discussion and decisions. Establishes credibility and trust with leaders including ELT, Region and Area leaders. Cultivates strong relationships and ensures alignment and support with Integration strategies and activities. Effectively brings leaders along on the change. Demonstrates analytical foresight to help make immediate decisions that will positively impact the future of the business.

  • Strategic Project Management: Develops, leads and refines the strategy and project plan required to execute the conversion of existing Finance organization into USF systems and processes from diligence through system conversion. Provides regular updates on activities and key deliverables; identify issues, trends, roadblocks, resource constraints, and resolve or escalate as needed. Forecasts year 1 business plan aligning with the M&A model; Drives achievement of key results for M&A Sites. Ensures physical inventory and qualitative inventory reviews are conducted. 

  • Cross Functional Partnerships: Coordinates and collaborates with other key functions and stakeholders to execute project plan activities and ensure regulatory compliance including Treasury, Tax, Payroll, Controller’s Group, Shared Business Services, Network Planning, Real Estate, Operations, HR and other teams or stakeholders.

  • Training: Designs and implements a compressive training program focused on allowing teams to return to a "business as usual" environment as quickly as possible after integration. Oversees the transition of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to Shared Business Services.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Internal: Mergers & Acquisition Team, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Shared Business Services, Real Estate, Region President, Area President, Regional Functional leaders, Area Leaders, IT

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Remote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Seeking 10+ years prior experience in Finance.

  • 4 years prior supervisory/management experience required.

  • General knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX.

  • Broad skillset in financial analysis and financial modeling.

  • Project management skills. Must be able to manage multiple priorities / projects with the ability to track and report progress through effective project management techniques.

  • Possesses outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively deliver high level presentations to Senior Leaders.

  • Demonstrates an ability to influence others, particularly at the leadership and executive level.

  • The role requires advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Well-organized, detail oriented and able to handle a fast-paced work environment.

  • 50-75% Travel required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • CPA or MBA

  • Industry experience and understanding of inventory management.

  • Experience that includes collaboration in a functional matrixed environment and virtual leadership across multiple sites.

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of USF Finance related tools and technology.

  • Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).  The expected base rate for this role is between

$130,000 - $215,000
