Sr. Consultant / Principal Consultant, Oracle EPM Planning & Budgeting

Position Summary

This is a full-time role for a Sr. Consultant or Principal Consultant, Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting. Level of hire is determined by the candidate's experience and demonstrated ability to independently lead full lifecycle implementations. The individual builds and configures Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions, including Free Form and Narrative Reporting, conducting needs assessments, designing and configuring systems, providing end user training, and offering ongoing support to ensure the success of implementation projects.

At the Sr. Consultant level, the individual builds out full planning models (e.g. Position Planning, Capital Planning) that have been designed, with some oversight from senior team members. As experience grows toward the Principal level, the individual takes on independent design and leadership of client solutions, and leads and mentors team members.

Position Responsibilities

• Build and configure Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions, including Free Form and Narrative Reporting
• Build out full planning models (e.g. Position Planning, Capital Planning) that have been designed, with some oversight from senior team members
• Independently design and lead Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions for clients as experience develops toward the Principal levelBuild Essbase rules, Narrative Reports, and Data Exchange integrations
• Write and maintain Groovy scripts to extend application functionalityConduct client needs assessments and translate business requirements into system design
• Configure and test EPM applications to meet client specificationsDeliver end user training and provide ongoing post-implementation supportApply strong functional knowledge of financial planning and budgeting to inform solution design
• Lead and mentor team members as capability develops toward the Principal levelPresent solution designs and recommendations to client stakeholders, with presentation scope and executive exposure increasing toward the Principal level
• Communicate functional and technical issues to Delivery leadership on a timely basisEffectively manage client relationships during system implementations
• Tailor solutions to each client's business requirements and industry contextAssist sales by contributing to scoping, estimating, and solution discussions (Principal level)
• Act as a point of escalation for client concerns raised during implementation (Principal level)
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables, configurations, and documentationMaintain accurate and up to date project and client data
• Maintain and pursue relevant Oracle EPM certificationsBe a valued contributor on ad-hoc projects and firm initiatives
• Must be willing to travel and work in various business locations or remotely as applicableAll other duties as assigned

Position Outcomes/Objectives and Standards of Performance

1.Ensures Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions are developed and implemented successfully.

Application implementation for all assigned projects is completed on schedule and meets the agreed upon expectations as outlined to the client. Solution development results in streamlined planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, as confirmed by client feedback.

2.Successfully resolves simple to moderate functional and technical issues during and after implementation.

Implementation and post-implementation support is provided on simple to moderate problems to resolve client concerns in a timely manner. Moderate to complex issues are properly identified and communicated on a timely basis to senior team members and Delivery leadership.

3.Effectively manages relationships with clients during system implementations.

Feedback from clients indicates overall satisfaction with communication and delivery. Escalated issues are dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Support is provided both virtually and on-site as required.

4.Builds full planning models with increasing independence, progressing toward the ability to lead and mentor team members.

Full models (e.g. Position Planning, Capital Planning) are built to specification with some oversight at the Sr. Consultant level. Readiness for the Principal level is demonstrated through independent solution design, client leadership, and mentoring of team members.

5.Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the organization's values.

Feedback from leadership, team members, and clients confirms that the individual consistently demonstrates actions aligned with Ascend's values.

6.Commits to ongoing professional development.

Pursues additional Oracle EPM certifications and full lifecycle implementation experience needed for progression toward the Principal level.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• 4 to 6 years of experience implementing Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions; 7 or more years, including experience independently leading full lifecycle implementations, will be considered for the Principal level4 to 6 full lifecycle Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting implementations completed; 5 to 8 completed, including 3 to 6 led independently, for consideration at the Principal level
• Oracle EPM certification required; 1 certification is the typical guidance at the Sr. Consultant level, and 2 or more, including Oracle EPM Budgeting and Planning Cloud, at the Principal level
• Medium level of client presentation experience required; high level of presentation experience expected for consideration at the Principal level
• Experience implementing for Public Sector industry clients is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Skills

• Strong technical knowledge and experience building Oracle EPM Planning and Budgeting solutions, including Essbase rules, Narrative Reports, and Data Exchange integrations
• Groovy script writing experience preferred
• Strong functional knowledge of financial planning and budgeting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated experience with MS Office
