Position Overview

Empower is seeking a Senior Analyst – Data Science to join the B2B Marketing Effectiveness team. This role will independently deliver analytical insights and measurement solutions to improve marketing performance, campaign effectiveness, and business decision-making.

The position requires strong analytical problem-solving, ownership of end-to-end analyses, a commitment to developing junior analysts, and the ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations. The ideal candidate has hands-on analytics experience and can partner effectively with marketing and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical Responsibilities

  • Own data extraction, cleaning, validation, and preparation for moderately complex analyses.
  • Independently scope and execute analyses to address business questions, including ambiguous or multi-step requests.
  • Apply exploratory and statistical analysis to identify drivers, trends, and performance opportunities.
  • Develop and enhance dashboards and recurring reporting, including metric definitions and quality checks.
  • Document analytical assumptions, methodologies, and findings to ensure reproducibility and data accuracy.

Marketing Performance Analysis

  • Analyze campaign performance across B2B marketing channels and recommend optimizations based on evidence.
  • Assess lead quality, funnel conversion, and campaign contribution across key funnel stages.
  • Evaluate marketing initiatives by identifying performance drivers, segment-level differences, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests where appropriate, including success metrics, interpretation, and limitations.
  • Translate analytical findings into concise recommendations and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.

Collaboration & Growth

  • Partner with marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify business questions and define analytical requirements.
  • Work with BI and data teams to strengthen data definitions, consistency, and reporting processes.
  • Present findings in team and stakeholder reviews, proactively flagging risks, caveats, and follow-up questions.
  • Actively mentor junior analysts through regular analytical guidance, code and output reviews, constructive feedback, and sharing of best practices.
  • Coach junior analysts on problem framing, SQL/Python approaches, statistical reasoning, data validation, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Review junior analysts’ deliverables for analytical rigor and clarity, helping them improve quality and build independence; no formal people-management responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 4–8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical roles.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing marketing, CRM, or sales data is preferred.
  • Experience independently delivering analytical projects using structured datasets and reporting tools.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and data validation.
  • Proficiency in Python or similar analytical tools for data manipulation, exploratory analysis, and repeatable workflows.
  • Experience developing and improving dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or similar tools.
  • Applied understanding of statistical inference, hypothesis testing, experiment analysis, and common analytical limitations.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalable data workflows is a plus
