YOU WILL BE: 

The Sr Analyst, Consignment Accounting, is a detail-oriented, driven finance professional who thrives at the intersection of accounting rigor and retail innovation. In this role, you will take ownership of consignment accounting processes that directly impact inventory accuracy, vendor partnerships, and financial performance ensuring integrity across the financial ecosystem. Working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and FP&A, you will design, analyze, and continuously improve processes that scale with a dynamic retail organization. Your expertise will enable smarter decisions, stronger controls, and a seamless flow of insights that empower the business to grow with confidence.

YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead the end-to-end consignment accounting process, including revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and vendor settlements, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.

  • Analyze consignment inventory performance, variances, and margin trends, delivering actionable insights to Finance and Merchandising leadership.

  • Drive month-end close activities for consignment accounts, ensuring timely, accurate journal entries and reconciliations (KPIs: close cycle days, reconciliation accuracy).

  • Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Vendor Management teams to ensure alignment on inventory flows, contract terms, and financial impacts.

  • Build and maintain robust financial models to track consignment profitability, inventory turns, and vendor performance (KPIs: inventory turnover, gross margin %).

  • Evaluate and strengthen internal controls around consignment processes, minimizing risk and ensuring audit readiness (KPIs: audit findings, control effectiveness).

  • Create reporting dashboards and executive summaries that translate complex financial data into clear business insights for decision-makers.

  • Improve systems and processes by identifying automation opportunities and implementing scalable solutions within ERP and reporting tools.

  • Support external and internal audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring full transparency of consignment accounting practices.

  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and financial excellence within the corporate finance team.

YOU WILL BRING:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 4–6+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, accounting, or retail finance

  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and revenue recognition principles

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consignment-based business models

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

  • Experience driving process improvements or automation initiatives

  • Exposure to SOX compliance and internal control frameworks

  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive business outcomes
