Solutions Platform Engineer

About the role (optional):

As a Solutions Platform Engineer, you’ll build and run the technical infrastructure that supports Appfire’s Solutions Group. You’ll own our demo environments end to end, build self-service sandboxes for Solution Partners, and automate technical processes that enable Sales Engineers and Solutions Architects to spend more time with customers. You’ll also help transition successful field-built prototypes into production by partnering with Engineering and DevOps on code ownership, hosting, and support models. This is a highly cross-functional role focused on reducing technical overhead, improving time-to-demo, and creating scalable solutions infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

• Own the demo estate end to end, including Atlassian instance provisioning, realistic seeded datasets, multi-product reference environments, and environment teardown and refresh.
• Build and maintain self-service sandbox environments that enable Solution Partners to demonstrate Appfire products independently.
• Design and implement automation that reduces technical overhead for Sales Engineering and Solutions Architecture teams and improves time-to-demo.
• Maintain the technical knowledge base supporting security questionnaires, RFPs, and trust center responses.
• Run the Instance Optimization inventory extract and pricing pull supporting Appfire’s consolidation assessment.
• Take ownership of field-built prototypes that graduate to production, including code ownership, hosting, deployment, and ongoing support in partnership with Engineering and DevOps.
• Define and enforce technical graduation criteria for prototypes moving from pilot to production, ensuring each solution has clear ownership, hosting, and support models.
• Monitor demo environment health, provisioning performance, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving technical bottlenecks.

What you’ll need:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering, ideally supporting a sales engineering, solutions, or presales organization.
• Hands-on experience administering and provisioning Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments, including Jira, Confluence, and/or Bitbucket.
• Experience building and operating self-service sandbox or demo environments, including environment lifecycle management and seeded or synthetic data.
• Strong experience with infrastructure automation, scripting such as Python or Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience taking ownership of existing tools or prototypes and preparing them for production, including code review, hosting, deployment, and support.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Solutions, Sales Engineering, Product Engineering, and DevOps teams in a fast-moving environment.
