Solutions Architect - Estimating Supervisor (Global Cloud & Data Center Vertical)

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Design & Estimating Supervisor to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will work as part of the Global Design & Estimating Team leadership while providing hands-on design, estimating, and engineering support and services for customers and opportunities. This is a supervisory role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Solutions Architects or Solutions Estimators.  As a supervisor you will be responsible for technical guidance, workload coordination, quality review, mentoring, and support of your team to ensure consistent support, services and deliverables by your team.

The team will work with and in support of sales colleagues to solution, design, and/or estimate large-scale, complex, and specialized projects for customers. As a working supervisor, this role remains directly engaged in the work while helping coordinate priorities, remove roadblocks, and support consistent execution across the team.

As a Global Design & Estimating Team Supervisor, you will play a critical role in producing accurate, high-value scopes of work and proposals while also reviewing team deliverables, supporting technical decisions, and helping develop colleagues through coaching and practical guidance.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Serve as a working supervisor for a team of Solutions Architects or Solutions Estimators supporting sales colleagues and customers from our Data Center Vertical and Global Accounts, while remaining actively engaged in solution design, estimating, and proposal development.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance, coaching, and coordination to help the team develop system designs, solutions, estimates, and proposal strategies for large-scale enterprise opportunities.
• Review team deliverables for consistency, technical accuracy, scope alignment, estimating quality, and adherence to established standards, processes and practices.
• Serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point for complex projects, specialized environments, regulated installations, and proposal challenges.
• Collaborate with sales leadership, vertical leadership, and cross-functional partners to align solution strategies with customer requirements, business goals, and delivery expectations.
• Mentor Solutions Architects and Estimators through practical coaching, work review, knowledge sharing, and support across complex opportunities.
• Coordinate workload, priorities, and assignments across the team to support high-value opportunities, strategic pursuits, and timely delivery.
• Work directly with customers and sales colleagues to create solutions, designs, scopes of work, specifications, and estimates for large-scale and highly complex projects.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions to fully assess project needs and unique requirements.
• Lead or support the preparation of detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for large, multi-site or country, complex security projects, including data centers, global enterprise installations, and regulated environments such as UL2050, defense, and government work.
• Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, procurement, operations, and project delivery teams to align estimates with project scope, technical requirements, pricing expectations, and timelines.
• Work with Partners to identify new and best technology to apply to solutions and designs.
• Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations.
• Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and potential solutions to address regulatory and customer expectations.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to clarify project scope and value proposition.
• Work with installation and operations teams to validate feasibility, labor assumptions, technical approach, and estimate accuracy.
• Apply industry knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements.
• Track project costs, potential risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies.
• Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness.
• Prepare, review, and present accurate proposals, scopes of work, and estimate summaries to internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, system commissioning, estimating, project management and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects, with demonstrated ability to guide or mentor other technical colleagues.
• Expertise in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, with a focus on large-scale enterprise, multi-site and complex projects.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for specialized environments.
• Proficiency in advanced estimating tools, Microsoft Office, and project collaboration software.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on project responsibilities with supervisory activities, including workload coordination, deliverable review, coaching, and follow-up.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to support customers, sales partners, cross-functional teams, and direct team members.

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience: 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, system commissioning, estimating, project management and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects, with demonstrated experience guiding, reviewing, mentoring, or coordinating the work of other technical colleagues.
