Formerly Ever.Ag Risk Management, we are now an independent company backed by Stone Point Capital, led by the same team that built the business. 

About You

You enjoy building software that solves complicated real-world problems. Your experience may span single-page web applications, backend APIs, native mobile development, or a combination of those areas. You bring strong engineering fundamentals and an interest in contributing across the application as the work requires. 

You already use AI tools extensively to write, understand, test, and improve software. You use them to work effectively in unfamiliar areas while remaining accountable for the code you ship. 

How the position fits in the organization 

You will join a small remote team building technology for agricultural businesses and commodity risk management. You will work closely with the CTO, product managers, and business partners to deliver improvements across our applications. 

This is an individual contributor role with meaningful ownership of design, implementation, and delivery. Your initial focus will reflect your strengths and the team’s priorities, with opportunities to broaden your contribution over time. 

Key contributions 

• Build and improve application features and the services that support them. 

• Design systems that reflect the complexity of agricultural operations and commodity risk management. 

• Deliver maintainable, testable code with appropriate documentation. 

• Work with Product to clarify requirements, explore tradeoffs, and deliver features incrementally. 

• Review code and technical designs, offering feedback that improves both the solution and the team’s understanding. 

• Investigate production issues and improve application reliability, security, and performance. 

• Use AI development tools to increase your effectiveness and tackle unfamiliar problems, validating their output through review and testing. 

• Take responsibility for work from the initial problem through release and follow-up improvements.What you bring 

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and sound judgment about design and implementation. 

• Meaningful experience in one or more relevant areas, such as single-page web applications, backend APIs, or native mobile development. Different combinations of experience can be a strong fit. 

• The ability to contribute to a TypeScript-based web stack. Existing TypeScript experience is valuable, along with the ability to learn quickly. 

• The ability to understand an existing system, diagnose problems, and make thoughtful improvements. 

• Substantial current use of AI development tools, with examples of how they support your engineering work. 

• Initiative, clear communication, and the ability to work independently on a remote team. 

• Native mobile development experience is a plus. Experience in agriculture, commodities, financial services, or insurance is also helpful. We value engineering capability over a particular framework, degree, or fixed number of years of experience. 

Tools 

Our current web applications and backend APIs use TypeScript. Our stack may evolve, and we look for engineers who can learn and choose tools thoughtfully. We use managed services where they let us focus on the technology that matters most to our customers.
