Job Description

Italian Itinerary is offering a dynamic internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students passionate about social media, digital marketing, and AI integration within the travel design industry. This role presents a chance to delve into the vibrant landscape of Italian slow travel design while gaining practical experience and expanding skill sets.

Role Overview:

The Social Media, Marketing, and AI Intern will merge responsibilities from both the social media and marketing domains, focusing on enhancing Italian Itinerary's online presence, exploring AI-driven strategies, conducting market research, and contributing to brand identity development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Management:
   1. Create and schedule engaging posts across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
   2. Emphasize the significance of travel design and slow travel experiences in Italy.
   3. Utilize strategic tagging to amplify reach and engagement.
2. AI Integration:
   1. Research and utilize AI software for content creation, social media management, and more.
   2. Explore innovative ways to integrate AI into digital marketing strategies.
3. Marketing Research:
   1. Conduct comprehensive market research to understand consumer behavior and trends.
   2. Develop and manage an Excel database for efficient organization and analysis.
4. Brand Identity Development:
   1. Contribute to the development of marketing materials that reflect Italian Itinerary's brand identity.
   2. Assist in generating innovative e-marketing ideas.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

Guideline Development:

1. Update and expand guidelines for using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok for Italian Itinerary.
2. Focus on best practices and optimization strategies.

Collaboration and Training:

• Streamline vendor contacts system to enhance collaboration.
• Participate in specialized online marketing and social media training sessions.

Additional Information:

• This is a 100% virtual position.
• The internship is unpaid.
• Requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week for a minimum of 5-6 months.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• A signed contractual agreement is required.

Requirements:

• Genuine passion for travel and social media.
• Strong eagerness to explore AI-driven strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• Fluency in English (strong written and spoken communication skills).
• High attention to detail and a proactive, self-driven, independent work ethic.
• Enthusiasm for AI-driven digital marketing and social media growth.
• Strong research skills and ability to identify high-value collaborations.
• Creativity in content creation, campaign development, and audience engagement.
• Any experience with WordPress, SEO, or AI-enhanced marketing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Canva) is a plus.
• Italian language skills are a plus but not required.
• Experience with social media, marketing, market research, and market analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and use of Excel/Word required. 
• Ability to prioritize and to meet timely deadlines. 
• Willingness to ask questions and seek help when needed.

About the Internship Structure

This internship is considered a curricular internship, referred to as:

• Academic Internship (U.S.): for academic credit or degree fulfillment
• Tirocinio Formativo (Italy): educational placement tied to university programs
• Stage (France, Belgium, etc.): structured, often unpaid practical training
• Praktikum (Germany): formal requirement of a study program
• Placement (UK): experience-based learning tied to coursework
