The Senior Training Manager leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs to enhance staff capabilities in online education advising and student support. This role involves aligning training strategies with institutional goals, managing onboarding processes, and driving innovation in digital pedagogy.

Reporting to the Director of Employee Onboarding, Integration & Development , with oversight from the VP, Chief Enrollment and Partnership Officer, the Senior Training Manager's responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs that enhance staff capabilities in delivering high-quality online education advising and student support. This role is strategic in nature and requires a leader who can set a strategy that is aligned with the divisional and organizational objectives. This role will lead training initiatives with institutional goals and drive innovation in digital pedagogy. The individual should have experience organizing training, assessing performance, and designing educational curricula.
Responsibilities:
Partner with senior leadership to align training goals with institutional priorities in online learning.
Oversee the assessment and continuous improvement of training programs based on performance metrics and learner feedback.
Provide leadership and vision on the planning, development, implementation, and assessment to provide consistent educational effectiveness through systematic curriculum and program evaluation.
By using established reporting and data, evaluate individual, team, and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting business needs and improving performance
Establish benchmarks for training initiatives tied to performance improvement benchmarks.
Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, needs assessments, and consultation with managers and directors.
Champion the adoption of emerging educational technologies and evidence-based instructional practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and quality in online course delivery.
Serves as a point of contact for training requests, distribution of workflow within the division, and communications with vendors (as needed) and internal stakeholders.
Actively participates as a team member and often as subject matter expert in the design and development of new and maintenance of existing product learning curricula.
Provides oversight for all aspects of the advisor training program, including program course development, roll-out planning, coordination with leadership team members, documentation, coordination with team members.
Essential Duties:
Supports the onboarding of new advisors and oversees new employee Orientation/Training for Enrollment Division team members.
Lead and execute needs assessment for training and development for front-line and mid-level manager roles within the division.
Manage training activities related to the Enrollment Division to support the assessment, design, and delivery of programs, curricula, and overall development initiatives.
Design, create, and maintain training tools and templates.
Establish, implement, manage, and continuously improve the Enrollment Division training and certification program in support of all student management lifecycle functions.
Administer tests after the completion of training courses to determine the effectiveness of training strategies.
Create printed and instructional materials to be distributed during training.
Listen to recorded calls and assess framework implementation based on role.
Audit student accounts for process and documentation procedures.
Collect information from senior management and other departments regarding how well employees retain information and use the concepts learned in training courses.
Qualifications:
1- 2 years in the Training Manager position
Experience analyzing needs, lesson planning, development, and implementation
Knowledge teaching theory for creating effective creating instructional materials
Masters degree required, doctorate degree preferred
Instructional experience in a group business setting
Proficient in using Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, and other higher education platforms
Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service and non traditional/adult learner audience
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other departments
Experience developing yearly training plans and materials for all departments throughout the Division
Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
Demonstrates strong knowledge of effective adult education principles and leverages in facilitation – problem-solving techniques, discussion leading, effective questioning, and conflict resolution
Professional Development Requirements:
Continually research methods and techniques in workplace training and remain up-to-date on developments within the industry and competitors
Minimum of a Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution
Demonstrable experience successfully training teams
Minimum of 2 years in a training/facilitation role
Can navigate the Christian Higher Ed landscape
Physical Demands:
Majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; must have the ability to use the computer and remain stationary for long periods of time.
Manage conversations in person, online, and by telephone.
Limited travel – locations vary, and some overnight travel may be necessary.
Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear clearly to perform essential functions.
