AI Summary

You will serve as the technical expert for customer integrations, designing and implementing solutions that connect KarmaCheck's AI agents with client systems like Bullhorn and Workday. This involves managing the end-to-end delivery of custom integrations, writing technical requirements, and collaborating with engineering to ensure successful go-lives.

About KarmaCheck

KarmaCheck was founded by Eric Ly, a co-founder and the original CTO of LinkedIn. We are modernizing background screening, verification, and credentialing for the staffing industry, with a focus on healthcare staffing. Our customers run screening inside the ATS, VMS, and HRIS platforms they already use, through our integrations and our public API, and KarmaCheck is the only background check integration in Bullhorn's investment portfolio.

We are now building an AI workforce: agents that automate the compliance workflows our customers run today by hand. This is hands-on work with vertical AI, not maintenance of a legacy screening platform.

About the opportunity

Building AI agents is half the work. The other half is making them work inside a customer's world: their Bullhorn, Symplr CTM, or Workday instance, their proprietary systems, and the workflows they actually run. This role is the Product team's technical expert on that second half.

Customer Success runs our standard introductions and scripted pitches. When a conversation goes off script, when a workflow does not fit what we planned for, or when someone asks whether our API could support something new, you are the person who works out the answer and then gets it built. Roadmap and prioritization sit with Product leadership; within the integration lane, you own the scoping, the solution, and delivery. This is a small team, and you will do the work with autonomy and ownership.

How you approach the work
  • Generating options: when a customer workflow does not fit a standard pattern, you come up with several workable approaches, weigh the trade-offs, and recommend one, often during the conversation itself
  • Recognizing patterns: you notice when issues across different customers, partners, or implementations share a root cause, and you turn them into standard solutions rather than one-off fixes
  • Thinking in systems: before committing to a solution, you consider its effect on the customer, Customer Success, Implementation, engineering capacity, and our partners
  • Reading people: you pay attention to how customers and colleagues are reacting and adjust your approach. You can deliver news a customer did not want to hear and keep their trust
  • Working independently: you make scoping and solution decisions within agreed guardrails and escalate only what genuinely needs a leadership call

What you will do
  • Be the technical voice on customer and prospect calls once a conversation moves past the standard pitch: customization, non-standard use, troubleshooting, and how our API could support something new
  • Get our AI products live inside customer systems, the role's top priority, working with the product team driving them on what changes in the API or partner integrations and how a customer turns them on
  • Design how KarmaCheck fits into a customer's systems via API and otherwise: data flows, field and status mapping, error handling, and configuration
  • Own customer solutions end to end with engineering: write the requirements, break down the work, track delivery, and keep customers and internal teams informed through go-live
  • Act as the hands-on technical counterpart for Bullhorn, Symplr CTM, Workday, and our VMS and direct sourcing partners
  • Turn the integration questions you answer repeatedly into documentation and configuration guides, so Customer Success and Implementation can handle more on their own. Over time, this role shifts toward turning recurring custom solutions into standard product

Requirements
  • 5+ years in technical product management, integration or solutions architecture, or technical implementation at a software company, with substantial time working directly with customers and/or high EQ
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, data mapping, and authentication. You can read API documentation, test calls yourself (Postman or similar), and reason about how an integration could work without waiting for an engineer
  • Strong written requirements and project execution: you can turn a messy customer ask into a clear spec engineers can build from, then run the project with them through delivery
  • Integration experience across multiple systems. We care more about the breadth of patterns you have seen than about any one platform

Helpful, and learnable here
  • Healthcare staffing, background screening, credentialing, or compliance. We would rather hire strong integration instincts and ramp the domain than the reverse
  • Credentialing or verification experience
  • Familiarity with ATS, VMS, HCM, or HRIS ecosystems such as Bullhorn, Symplr, or Workday
  • SQL or light scripting for testing, troubleshooting, and reporting
  • Experience deploying AI or automation features into customer environments
