JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Systems & Cloud Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the organization’s cloud, server, identity, virtualization, endpoint management, storage, and backup environments. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role serves as a senior technical resource for complex infrastructure issues, projects, and system improvements across multiple locations.

Microsoft Cloud and Identity

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and licensing.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, including users, groups, administrative roles, enterprise applications, and identity synchronization.
  • Configure and maintain Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, and identity security controls.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, application deployment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and endpoint security.
  • Support Microsoft Azure resources and hybrid cloud integrations.
  • Assist with cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.

Server, Virtualization, and Storage

  • Administer Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related infrastructure.
  • Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, and other virtualization platforms.
  • Provision, monitor, patch, troubleshoot, upgrade, and migrate physical and virtual servers.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and lifecycle requirements.
  • Support SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage platforms.
  • Administer backup and replication systems and participate in disaster recovery testing.

Infrastructure Operations and Security

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for cloud, server, identity, endpoint, and infrastructure issues.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, patch management, and security initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues involving VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, routing, switching, and WAN connectivity.
  • Assist with site connectivity, network changes, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment deployments.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, managed service providers, and internet service providers.
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and incident response activities.

Projects and Documentation

  • Lead or participate in infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
  • Support acquisitions, new site deployments, system migrations, and technology standardization.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and recommend long-term solutions for recurring issues.
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, and support procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge-sharing to other IT team members.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations to the IT Manager.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, equivalent professional experience or certifications.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems administration, cloud administration, or infrastructure support.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, and Windows Server.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware, ESXi, Hyper-V, enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking, including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
  • Experience supporting distributed or multi-site environments.
  • PowerShell or automation experience is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and project execution skills.

Working Conditions: 

  • Home internet acceptable for remote computer work. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This job may require travel less than 20%
