Senior Strategic Area Clinical Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Strategic Area Clinical Manager serves as the senior clinical expert for the Northeast region, leading high-priority initiatives that drive clinical excellence, customer adoption, and business growth. This role goes beyond day-to-day case coverage. The individual partners with sales, marketing, medical education, and clinical leadership to plan and execute key regional projects, including new product launches, strategic account development, and therapy expansion programs. The ideal candidate combines deep clinical expertise with strong project management skills and the credibility to influence physicians, hospital administrators, and internal leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Projects and Initiatives

• Lead and execute special key projects across the Northeast, such as new product launches, limited market releases, new center openings, and competitive conversion programs.
• Develop project plans with clear objectives, timelines, and success metrics, and report progress to regional and national leadership.
• Identify clinical and market opportunities within the region and recommend strategies to expand therapy adoption.
• Serve as the regional point of contact for clinical studies, registries, or post-market evaluations as needed.

Clinical Expertise and Case Support

• Provide expert technical and clinical support in the procedural setting, including complex and first-in-region cases.
• Act as a clinical resource and escalation point for field clinical specialists and sales representatives.
• Ensure safe, effective use of products in line with labeling, protocols, and company policy.

Customer Relationships and Education

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, nursing staff, and hospital stakeholders.
• Design and deliver training programs, in-services, and educational events for customers and healthcare professionals.
• Support physician training programs, proctoring, and peer-to-peer education initiatives.

Team Development and Collaboration

• Mentor and coach clinical specialists across the region, supporting onboarding and skill development.
• Share best practices and standardize clinical processes across territories.
• Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, reimbursement, R&D, and quality to align on regional priorities.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback on product performance and unmet clinical needs.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of progressive clinical, healthcare, or medical device experience.

• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience managing clinical teams.

• Demonstrated success leading regional or multi-site clinical organizations.

• Strong business acumen and experience partnering with commercial teams.

• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications:

•       Experience serving on leadership councils, advisory boards, or cross-functional strategic committees.

•       Proven track record of driving clinical adoption, customer satisfaction, and commercial growth initiatives.

•       Experience managing multiple layers of leadership and large geographic territories.

                                                                                                                                      
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, or related healthcare field required.

Language requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Ability to interpret technical documents, schematics, and written instructions.

• Ability to clearly document technical findings and communicate with cross-functional team members.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works outside of a traditional office environment, making frequent customer contact on a daily basis. It requires frequent sitting, standing, walking and lifting (must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds).  Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.  Must be able to travel extensively (both domestically and locally), so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required. Must have a valid Driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s insurance requirements.
