We are looking for a motivated Senior Solutions Consultant ready to take us to the next level! If you have experience as a pre-sales technical engineer/architect with a strong background in solution development within the proposal response process and are looking for your next career move, apply now!Job Description
CAI is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Solutions Consultant to serve as a pre-sales technical architect and proposal solution writer across our core IT service lines. This role is pivotal to the success of our proposal efforts, partnering with Business Development, Capture, and Delivery leadership to translate client requirements into winning, technically sound solutions — spanning IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Service Desk, ServiceNow, Atlassian/Jira Service Management, Application Managed Services, Cloud (AWS/Azure), and Infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in solution development within the proposal response and pre-sales process, the ability to collaborate and engage stakeholder teams, and a keen eye for detail. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who can move fluidly between technical depth and executive-level storytelling — someone equally comfortable whiteboarding a ServiceNow workflow, sizing a service desk staffing model, and writing the “Technical Approach” section of an RFP response. This position will be full-time and remote.
"This position does not offer employment sponsorship. All candidates must be eligible to work without need for sponsorship by employer."
What You’ll Do
Evaluate and/or qualify opportunities for new business, including leveraging CAI collateral and developing/supporting new lines of business
Serve as the lead solution architect for pre-sales pursuits, translating RFP/RFI requirements into differentiated, compliant technical and staffing solutions
Partner with stakeholders to develop and evaluate CAI strategy for a given pursuit
Design and document end-to-end solutions across ITSM/ITIL processes, Service Desk operations, ServiceNow and Atlassian/JSM platforms, Application Managed Services (AMS/ASO), Cloud (AWS/Azure) architectures, and Infrastructure/Network environments
Work with CAI technical and business staff to devise an approach to position CAI as the preferred vendor, work plans to accomplish the proposed scope of work, strategies for implementing the proposed solution, high-level diagrams portraying all aspects of the solution, and presentations summarizing CAI's value proposition
Write and edit proposal content — technical narratives, solution overviews, staffing plans, transition/transformation approaches, and pricing assumptions — in direct collaboration with proposal writers and capture managers
Lead or support solutioning workshops with capture teams, subject matter experts, and delivery leads to shape win themes and technical differentiators
Partner with partner/alliance teams (ServiceNow, Atlassian, AWS, Microsoft, TalkDesk or other ACD platforms) to incorporate platform-specific capabilities, licensing models, and co-sell opportunities into proposed solutions
Contain solution risk by identifying cost items, documenting assumptions unambiguously, and interpreting requirements in a way that is favorable to CAI while still meeting client deliverables
Develop and maintain reusable solution assets: battlecards, reference architectures, staffing models, pricing templates, and past-performance narratives
Support orals/BAFO preparation, client presentations, and executive briefings with clear, defensible technical positioning
Provide technical review and quality control on proposal volumes prior to submission
Multi-task effectively to simultaneously support multiple concurrent initiatives
Advise stakeholders at all levels — mentoring other solutions consultants, advising CAI leadership, and facilitating communication across CAI, including legal and governance teams
Stay current on market trends, competitor positioning, and emerging capabilities (AI/automation, ITSM tooling, cloud managed services) to keep solutions competitive
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of experience in IT services, with significant experience evaluating RFPs and creating SOWs, and time spent in a pre-sales, solutions architecture, or proposal development role
Demonstrated ability to design and articulate solutions across multiple of the following: ITSM/ITIL frameworks, IT Service Desk operations, ServiceNow, Atlassian/Jira Service Management, Application Managed Services, Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and Infrastructure/Network services
Proven track record writing technical proposal content for government and/or commercial RFPs
Strong understanding of managed services delivery models, staffing/pricing constructs, and SLA design
Significant experience in written and verbal communications; fluency in English with high proficiency in articulating strategy to executive and non-technical audiences
Ability to summarize technical/business material and present concepts using charts, graphs, and diagrams; strong visual design skills
Power user of Microsoft Word and other Office products
Experience working cross-functionally with capture managers, proposal writers, delivery leaders, and partner/alliance teams
Preferred:
ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher) certification
ServiceNow certification (CSA, CIS) and/or Atlassian/JSM certification
AWS or Azure cloud certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate)
Application development experience in a modern application development language, digital transformation, or scripting
Experience leveraging AI models and platforms — such as Claude, Claude Cowork, Gemini, or others — to support solutioning, research, or proposal development
Experience responding to State & Local Government (SLG) and/or Commercial RFPs
Familiarity with AI/automation tooling in service management (virtual agents, predictive intelligence, GenAI-assisted workflows)
Experience with proposal automation tools
Experience performing technical support
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
