Role Overview

We're a fast-growing cybersecurity startup looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote team. You'll design, build, and run the large-scale, high-performance systems behind our product, using Python and AWS serverless technologies. As we grow, you'll have a direct hand in how our platform scales, how reliable it is, and how our engineering team works.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python on AWS serverless infrastructure

• Ship quickly without cutting corners, pairing fast iteration with solid testing and clear documentation

• Review code and give thoughtful, constructive feedback that raises the bar for the whole team

• Work closely with engineers, designers, and product leaders to turn ideas into reliable features

What We're Looking For

• Expert-level Python and a track record of building and scaling large production systems

• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture and infrastructure as code (we use AWS CDK)

• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (we use PostgreSQL and DynamoDB)

• A self-directed, proactive working style suited to a remote-first environment

• You take ownership of features end to end, from initial concept through to production

• You keep users at the centre of your decisions, caring about how your work affects their experience.

• (Preferred) Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
