Azure Compute Manager is the kernel of Microsoft’s compute cloud. We build fault-tolerant distributed systems on commodity datacenter hardware to host cloud applications on virtual servers and bare-metal instances, powering mission-critical, cloud-native, enterprise, and AI workloads. Our systems make Azure resources appear limitless, elastic, and always available.
The Core Control Plane team builds and runs the distributed systems that manage Azure Compute resources at hyperscale, including the services that provision, update, heal, migrate, monitor, and operate virtual machines and containers across Azure regions. The organization is modernizing Compute Manager services by moving from legacy control-plane systems to modern platforms and improving reliability, performance, and scale across Azure Compute Manager, Azure Host OS and Host Agent, Compute Resource Provider, Azure Networking, and related Azure Core components.

You will join a diverse, collaborative team that embraces challenges, values learning, and offers opportunities for mentorship, career growth, and high-impact work.
