What You’ll do as a Senior Program Manager

Program Leadership – Drives implementation of multiple, complex program initiatives as the single accountable program manager, working closely with cross-functional teams and resources to achieve program/project milestones within established timeframes, directing roughly forty interdependent sub-projects and twelve portfolios from chartering through operational handover.

Governance & Controls – Manages the utilization of PMO standards and methodologies — including the PMO operating model, lifecycle/tollgates, project charter, change-control processes, review and sign-off, integrated master schedule, RAIDA (risks, actions, issues, decisions, assumptions) cadence, decision logs, and dashboards — ensuring transparent, disciplined execution.

Execution & Delivery – Plans, directs, and coordinates activities for complex programs and projects through the development of project plans intended to accomplish goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes and budgets, partnering with cross-functional teams and external delivery partners (architecture/engineering, general contractor, developer, and specialist vendors) to achieve milestones and to quality and safety expectations.

Cost & Budget Management – Partners with stakeholders, project and business process owners to identify deliverables, milestones, and resources (quality, time, allocation, budget, and information); owns program capital and expense budgets, including estimate progression, forecasting, commitment tracking, and variance analysis, and manages changes to scope and schedule with proper approvals in place.

Risk & Business Continuity – Communicates with stakeholders and executive/senior management, providing insight on risk/issue identification, escalation, mitigation, and resolution; leads enterprise risk and business-continuity management, including legacy-site production continuity, single-sourced supply protection, and phased transfer/qualification sequencing until stability is proven at the receiving facility.

Design Progression & Procurement – Directs stage-gate design progression (definition, basic and detailed design, construction, commissioning/qualification/validation) and coordinates long-lead equipment procurement and phasing across the manufacturing and distribution paths; facilitates collaboration on creative alternatives to program challenges with subject-matter experts.

Duties - cont'd

Executive Communication – Ensures consistent visibility for program and project teams by monitoring and reporting business objectives, program/project achievements, and key indicators; prepares and presents status, risks, financials, and recommendations to executive sponsors, the steering committee, and core team, and develops the cadence for regular portfolio, workstream, and executive reviews.

Readiness, Transition & Handover – Oversees operational readiness, workforce and site transition, knowledge transfer, and formal handover to operations; removes obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met, confirming demonstrated stable output and supply continuity before legacy ramp-down.

Documentation & Compliance – Owns quality control of program deliverables and artifacts and the creation and maintenance of comprehensive program documentation, ensuring traceability, alignment with PMO standards, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Performance & Continuous Improvement – Tracks and reports program KPIs (schedule, cost, risk burn-down, milestone achievement, stakeholder engagement); identifies and applies best practices and needed process improvements, provides coaching and feedback to project owners and key stakeholders, and acts as a model and champion for continuous-improvement and change-management practices.
