AI Summary

The Senior Product Manager will lead the end-to-end modernization strategy for a legacy compliance product, defining the target-state vision and migration path. They will partner with engineering and customer success teams to drive delivery, manage architectural trade-offs, and ensure successful customer adoption.

WHO WE ARE

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Ncontracts leads the industry in integrated risk management and compliance solutions, serving over 5,000 financial institutions nationwide. As an eight-time Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies honoree and consistent year-over-year recipient of "Best Places to Work" awards, we offer a thriving, work environment where career growth and life-work balance go hand in hand.

At Ncontracts, you'll join a team of industry experts dedicated to strengthening the financial services sector through innovation and thought leadership. We're seeking creative, collaborative, and self-driven professionals across all areas of our business - from developing cutting-edge solutions to sales, marketing, customer support, and beyond. Join us in our mission to make the financial industry stronger and more resilient, while advancing your career in a supportive, dynamic environment that values your unique skills and perspectives.

THE ROLE

We're seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the modernization of an established, market-leading compliance product with a large, loyal customer base and a long heritage in the mortgage lending space.

This is not a maintenance role, and it is not a Product Owner role. We are hiring a strategic product leader to answer the hard questions first — what the modern product should be, which capabilities carry forward, which workflows get reimagined, and how we migrate thousands of customers without breaking their trust — and then drive that vision through delivery. You'll be handed a product with real revenue, real customers, and real technical debt, and asked to chart its next decade.

You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will set the strategy, build the business case, define the roadmap, and make the calls — with support from leadership, but without someone handing you a prioritized backlog. The right candidate finds ambiguity energizing: you know how to go deep with customers, size markets, pressure-test assumptions with Engineering, and turn an open-ended mandate into a sequenced plan the whole company can rally behind.

As we continue evolving our lending compliance portfolio toward a more integrated, AI-enabled platform, this role sits at the center of one of the most consequential product bets we're making.

YOU WILL

Product Strategy & Vision (50%)

  • Own the end-to-end modernization strategy for a legacy product line: define the target-state product, the migration path, and the sequencing of investment across a multi-year horizon

  • Conduct deep discovery with existing customers, lost customers, and prospects to understand which workflows are load-bearing, which are legacy artifacts, and where a modern platform can leapfrog the market

  • Build and defend the business case — market sizing, retention risk, expansion opportunity, and build/buy/partner trade-offs — with executive leadership

  • Define what carries forward, what gets reimagined, and what gets sunset, and own the communication of those decisions internally and externally

  • Evaluate where AI-native capabilities should replace legacy workflows rather than merely re-skinning them

  • Develop the competitive strategy: understand how the market has moved while the legacy product stood still, and position the modernized product to win

Delivery Leadership (30%)

  • Translate strategy into PRDs, specifications, and acceptance criteria that give Engineering clear context on the problem, success criteria, and constraints

  • Partner with Engineering and Architecture on replatforming decisions — phasing, data migration, parity thresholds, and when "good enough to migrate" beats "perfect"

  • Define and track success metrics for the modernization: migration velocity, retention through transition, adoption of the new experience, and NPS recovery

  • Make disciplined scope trade-offs to keep a multi-year effort shipping value in quarters, not years

Go-to-Market & Customer Transition (20%)

  • Design the customer migration and communication strategy in partnership with Customer Success and Implementation

  • Craft positioning and messaging for the modernized product; equip Sales to sell the vision to prospects while reassuring the installed base

  • Serve as the external face of the modernization to key customers, industry partners, and at conferences

  • Work closely with Sales to support strategic deals and gather competitive intelligence

YOU BRING (Qualifications)

We're looking for a strategic product manager, not a Product Owner. The ideal candidate has taken an aging or acquired product through a major replatforming, rewrite, or re-imagination — and has the scars and judgment to show for it. You are:

  • A Strategist: You start with the market and the customer problem, not the backlog. You've built product strategies that survived contact with executives, engineers, and customers.

  • Autonomous: You don't wait to be told what to do. Given a mandate and a goal, you structure the problem, find the people you need, and drive to a decision. You escalate for alignment, not for direction.

  • A Modernization Veteran: You understand the specific gravity of legacy products — entrenched workflows, migration risk, feature-parity traps — and you know how to move an installed base forward without losing it.

  • Commercially Minded: You think in terms of retention, expansion, and win rates, and you can build a business case a CFO takes seriously.

  • A Communicator: You can articulate a multi-year vision to executives, a sprint's trade-offs to engineers, and a migration plan to a nervous 20-year customer — and be credible with all three.

Required Experience & Attributes

  • 7+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with at least one product area owned end-to-end at the strategy level

  • Direct experience leading a product modernization, replatforming, legacy migration, or major rewrite — including the customer transition, not just the build

  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, zero-to-one-adjacent environments within an established company

  • Track record of building business cases and multi-year roadmaps that secured executive investment

  • Experience partnering with Engineering on architectural trade-offs and phased delivery of large initiatives

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using product analytics tools (Pendo, Amplitude, or similar)

  • Outstanding communication skills — ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite to individual customers

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline; MBA a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience in mortgage lending, lending compliance, or the broader financial services technology ("FinTech") / regulatory technology ("RegTech") space

  • Familiarity with regulatory-driven products (HMDA, TRID, fair lending, licensing, or similar) where correctness is table stakes

  • Experience with products acquired through M&A and integrated into a larger platform

WE OFFER ALL REGULAR FULL-TIME TEAM MEMBERS:

  • A fun, fast-paced work environment

  • Responsible PTO Plan that meets or exceeds state and local medical and family leave laws

  • 11 paid holidays

  • Community and social events to keep you connected and engaged

  • Mental Health Benefits

  • Medical, Dental and Vision insurance

  • Company-paid Group Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability

  • Flexible Spending Account & Health Savings Account

  • Aflac Benefits – Critical Illness, Cancer Protection, & Hospital Choice

  • Pet Insurance

  • 401 (k) with company match with eligibility on Day 1 of employment

  • 2 Paid Volunteer Time Off Days

  • And much more!

*Part-Time and Contractor positions are not eligible for company benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, and other employee benefit programs. Full-time temporary employees are eligible for certain group benefits after a waiting period; specific eligibility timing will be provided at the time of offer.
