Overview

 

The Spanish Senior Marketing Associate provides marketing, operational and administrative support for the marketing team of the Spanish publishing division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing and HarperFocus.  This role, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, will focus on supporting marketing efforts throughout the US and Latin America for a variety of imprints including Editorial Vida, Grupo Nelson, HarperEnfoque, Clie, and Editorial Catolica.

 

Editorial Vida is the leader in publishing beautiful Bibles in Spanish, in multiple translations, for every age and stage of life.  Editorial Vida also publishes the widest selection of study Bibles including the John MacArthur, Vida Plena, Matthew Henry, Biblia Plentitud, and the Thompson Chain Reference Bible well as specialty Bibles by John Maxwell, C.S. Lewis and more.  Key translations represented by Editorial Vida and Editorial Catolica include the RVR, RVR 60, NVI, the NBLA and Biblia de la Américas

Editorial Vida , along with Grupo Nelson, and HarperEnfoque are leading providers of trade and children’s books that equip and inspire.  Key authors represented by these imprints include Itiel Arroyo, Craig Groeschel, Andres Spyker, Agustín Laje, C.S. Lewis, Max Lucado, Sebastian Franz, John Maxwell, Miguel Nuñez, Margarita Pasos, Lysa TerKeurst, David Scarpeta, Jahaziel Rodriguez, Sarah Young and Rick Warren.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Title Marketers and Digital Marketing Manager in frontlist and backlist marketing efforts.
  • Manage influencer-related activities, including maintaining an automated influencer database and generating monthly reports.
  • Coordinate trade and direct-to-consumer events and conferences.
  • Assist with creation of sales conference videos and coordination of live sales conference events.
  • Upload marketing assets to various systems, including Cumulus, YouTube, and Amazon.
  • Coordinate creation of print advertising, brochures and other marketing/promotional items.
  • Request audio clips, manage SoundCloud assets, playlists, and embed codes as needed for content creation and campaigns.
  • Create and design handouts, presentations, and other creative assets as needed.
  • Code and process invoices and reimbursements; handle any internal or external follow-up communications.
  • Process new vendors and complete the setup through our system.
  • Manage travel logistics for authors and others, and handle any internal/external follow-up communications.
  • Order promotional products for influencers, agencies, and others; handle all internal and external follow-up communications to ensure packages arrive at their destination.
  • Provide information and assets to internal and external partners as needed.
  • Manage incoming communications through shared mailboxes.
  • Attend relevant book trade shows and conferences, as required.
  • Assist in other marketing-related activities, as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Possess 2 years of hands-on experience in marketing, sales or related field
  • Understand the Spanish-speaking Christian market in the U.S. and Latin America

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field required. 

 

Industry Knowledge: Experience in marketing, agency or in-house, preferred. Interest in and basic understanding of book and Bible publishing preferred, but not required.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and strong follow up skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and process management skills
  • A team player with the ability to build internal & external relationships with departments, authors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and problem-solve creatively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • A detail-oriented, meticulous self-starter
  • Ability to analyze data and make metrics-based decisions
  • Willingness to help and solve problems
  • Fully bilingual – effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish

 

The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $60,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.  The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
