Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy
Reports to: Senior Director of Marketing
Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy leads SSA Group's digital marketing strategy, content strategy, and go-to-market execution across the organization, serving as the connective link between brand strategy, business development, partner marketing, and digital execution. This role owns the planning, development, optimization, and distribution of content that advances SSA's business goals, strengthens brand visibility, and drives engagement with target audiences across cultural attractions and hospitality markets.
The Senior Manager operates with a blend of hands-on execution and team leadership — setting content and SEO strategy directly while supervising and developing digital marketing team members who carry out day-to-day production. Their core responsibility is translating SSA's brand and business priorities into a coordinated digital content program that maintains editorial quality and consistency across every channel and audience.
Responsibilities
Go-to-Market Strategy Leadership
The Senior Manager partners directly with marketing leadership to shape and execute SSA's go-to-market strategy, translating organizational priorities into concrete channel and content plans.
- Partner with marketing leadership to develop and execute SSA's go-to-market strategy.
- Align marketing initiatives with organizational priorities, business development objectives, partner needs, and growth opportunities.
- Support launches of new programs, services, partnerships, initiatives, and strategic campaigns.
- Develop audience, channel, and content recommendations that support awareness, engagement, and business growth.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen SSA's market positioning and competitive differentiation.
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership
This role owns SSA's content strategy end to end, setting the editorial direction and priorities that guide every marketing deliverable across digital channels.
- Own SSA's content strategy across digital channels and marketing initiatives.
- Develop annual and quarterly content plans aligned with business priorities and target industry segments.
- Oversee development of thought leadership, case studies, website content, newsletters, sales collateral, industry one-pagers, blogs, white papers, and other marketing materials.
- Ensure content supports SSA's positioning and broader brand narrative.
- Establish content priorities based on business goals, audience needs, and market opportunities.
- Manage content calendars and publishing schedules.
Content Quality & Brand Governance
The Senior Manager serves as the primary owner of content quality, holding every marketing deliverable to a consistent standard of accuracy, tone, and brand alignment before it reaches an audience.
- Serve as the primary owner of content quality across all marketing deliverables.
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, voice, style, and brand positioning.
- Implement and maintain content review and approval processes.
- Partner with copyediting and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and quality.
- Review major marketing assets prior to publication, production, or launch.
- Maintain editorial standards and content governance documentation.
SEO & Organic Growth Strategy
This role drives SSA's organic visibility strategy, applying technical and content-based SEO practices to strengthen discoverability across search engines and emerging AI-powered search experiences.
- Develop and implement SEO strategies that improve visibility across search engines and AI-powered search experiences.
- Conduct keyword research, technical SEO reviews, and content optimization initiatives for SSA and partner websites.
- Identify opportunities to improve discoverability of SSA content and thought leadership.
- Monitor organic performance and recommend optimization opportunities.
- Support website architecture and content strategies that strengthen search visibility.
Analytics & Performance Insights
The Senior Manager connects digital activity to business outcomes, using performance data to guide strategy and inform leadership decision-making.
- Utilize Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, HubSpot, and related tools to monitor performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that connect digital activity to business outcomes.
- Analyze content performance, website engagement, search visibility, and audience behavior.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on performance data and market trends.
- Support quarterly business reviews and marketing planning processes.
Team Management & Development
The Senior Manager builds team capability through direct supervision, coaching, and clear delegation, ensuring digital marketing team members and contractors are set up to do their best work.

Education & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, content marketing, brand marketing, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
- Proven content strategy and editorial planning experience across complex, multi-channel programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional marketing initiatives and manage marketing team members or contractors.
- Strong understanding of SEO, website strategy, content optimization, and digital experience management.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, HubSpot, and related marketing platforms.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and demonstrated leadership experience considered.
Position Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple concurrent content and campaign workstreams.
- Occasional availability outside standard hours to support launches, campaigns, or business reviews as needed.
Work Environment
The Senior Manager operates in a fast-paced marketing environment that blends independent strategic work with active team leadership, moving between content planning, editorial review, performance analysis, and coaching conversations throughout the week. The role requires the flexibility to balance long-term content and SEO planning with the day-to-day demands of an active publishing calendar and evolving business priorities.
Compensation and Benefits
- $75 monthly cell phone stipend

Colorado: Employees accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year, under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA). Maryland: Employees accrue at least 1 hour of paid sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year, as required under the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act.
