Job Description

As Rockwell's Senior Field Service Technician, you provide services to support the on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, power systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems. If you are not at a customer's site, you can work from your home office or regional sales office. Regional travel is required, up to 50%. You report to the Territory Services Manager and located in Southern Central Valley California (Bakersfield area).

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide customer support through the installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Rockwell Automation power and control systems, including PowerFlex low and medium voltage drives, MCCs, motor control equipment, switchgear interfaces, and industrial automation systems.

• Perform startup, commissioning, diagnostics, optimization, and lifecycle support for AC and DC drive systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), networked control architectures, and associated power distribution equipment. PLC and HMI programming support utilizing RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, ControlLogix, and CompactLogix is considered a secondary but valuable skillset.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation and electrical equipment, including systems operating at voltages up to 600 VAC and 800 VDC, while adhering to applicable safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Diagnose complex system failures involving power, control, drive, network, and motor control systems; identify root causes; implement corrective actions; and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
• Execute initiatives supporting Rockwell Automation's lifecycle services strategy, manage customer-facing service activities, support maintenance agreements and embedded contracts, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation as required, including startup reports, troubleshooting reports, root cause analyses, validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, and traceability matrices.
• Support and maintain OTTO Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems for strategic customers, including performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, coordinating repairs, and optimizing fleet performance. Serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer, OTTO Motors, and Rockwell Automation, providing escalation management, coordinating technical resources, communicating resolution status, and ensuring maximum system uptime and customer satisfaction.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• The ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• A valid drivers license.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 6+ years of related experience in Low or Medium Voltage Drives, MCC's, HMIs, Small and Large controllers
• Experience working with sales and business leads to identify new contract opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction of service offerings.
• Experience with networks including EtherNet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet

• This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
• The base salary compensation range for this role is $79,000-$118,000 with an annual target bonus of 4% of base salary.
