Senior Engineering Project Manager

This is a remote position.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of fiber deployment projects, including planning, fielding, permitting, design, make-ready engineering coordination, and as-built deliverables.  This will also include budgeting, scheduling, forecasting and invoicing.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned telecommunications professional with extensive experience managing fiber network deployments, budgets, schedules, client relationships, and engineering teams. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with client standards and quality expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

-Lead multiple FTTH engineering projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, quality standards, and fulfillment of contractual obligations.

-Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resource allocations, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation strategies to achieve project objectives.

-Oversee all phases of FTTH engineering, including planning, fielding, permitting, make-ready engineering, OSP design, quality control, and as-built documentation.

-Coordinate and direct cross-functional teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and issue resolution.

-Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects, providing regular status updates, executive-level reporting, and proactive communication to maintain strong client relationships and customer satisfaction.

-Manage vendor and subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, quality expectations, and established key performance indicators.

-Monitor project financial performance, including labor, operational, and subcontractor costs, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain budget targets.

-Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, quality, accountability, and overall engineering performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides overall leadership and direction for FTTH engineering project teams, exercising independent judgment in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects and resources. Directs the work of cross-functional employees, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors involved in engineering, permitting, design, quality control, and project delivery activities. Responsible for assigning work, monitoring performance, establishing project priorities, resolving operational issues, ensuring compliance with company and client standards, and driving accountability for results. Oversees project budgets, schedules, quality objectives, and customer satisfaction while making strategic decisions regarding resource allocation, risk mitigation, and project execution. Regularly communicates with clients, company leadership, and key stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure successful project outcomes.

Position Requirements:

- Minimum 15 years of experience managing and overseeing engineering and/or construction deployment projects.

- Minimum 10 years of fiber engineering and program management experience.

-Proven experience managing multimillion-dollar project budgets.

-Demonstrated success developing and maintaining complex project schedules.

-Strong understanding of aerial and underground fiber construction methodologies.

-Experience working directly with Tier I telecommunication providers such as Verizon, AT&T, Frontier, Lumen, Windstream, Brightspeed, or similar organizations.

-Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and subcontractor networks.

-Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools.

-Experience supporting large-scale broadband expansion initiatives.

-Knowledge of GIS, utility coordination, joint-use processes, and permitting workflows.

-Familiarity with telecom engineering software and design platforms.

Education/Certifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, Project Management, or related field.

-PMP Certification.
