The Senior Director of Business Operations will oversee the operational strategy and execution for experiential events. This role involves managing cross-functional teams to ensure efficient delivery and high-quality event outcomes.
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
TH Experiential | Remote (US) | Full-time
TH Experiential is an experiential marketing and events agency with a 20-year history, building immersive brand worlds for global clients. We are in a growth stage, scaling the team and the business.
We are looking for a Senior Director of Operations to build and run how the agency operates day to day. This is a senior leadership role and a critical one for our next phase of growth.
You will build on the systems that make the agency run effectively, and you will get into the work to do it. You will work with each team, learn how the work moves, and build a standardized, repeatable way of operating that teams plug into, from intake and RFP through delivery and close-out. You lead through our team leads and program managers, set the standard, and hold the agency to it.
WHAT THIS ROLE OWNS
Operating framework and process
Own and evolve how TH runs across the full client and project lifecycle. Build the SOPs, workflows, and operating rhythms that make the work repeatable, and enforce them so projects are set up, scoped, staffed, and tracked the same way every time.
Project delivery
Own how projects are delivered across pitch, execution, close-out, and follow-up. Make sure every project is set up, run, and closed out the same way, so clients get clarity, consistency, and follow-through, and the team delivers on time and on margin.
Resourcing, capacity, and hours
Own hours forecasting and capacity planning across proposal, project, and support teams. Staff to the work in front of us, see what is coming, and plan ahead so we are always a step in front of the work.
Profitability and margin
Own project profitability, making sure every project is budgeted against real hours and costs, change orders are priced and signed before the work is done, and margins are tracked in real time. Find where we win and lose margin, and turn it into how we price and plan ahead.
Visibility and performance
Build the metrics, dashboards, and reporting that give leadership real-time visibility into project health, hours burn, margin, and operational risk, without having to go gather it. Surface risks early and drive corrective action.
Cadence and accountability
Own the weekly operating cadence across functions, feeding a clear picture of priorities, owners, and outcomes up to the leadership meeting. Keep the business running to its commitments, with gaps surfaced and resolved and the right issues raised for decision.
Developing our leads
Build the bench. Each lead works to clear expectations and a scorecard, with a regular rhythm of coaching that raises the standard of how they plan, own their areas, and bring forward solutions.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Each team follows one clear, repeatable way of working
- Projects are set up right, delivered on time, and closed out on margin, every time
- Leadership has real-time visibility into performance, risk, capacity, and profitability
- Resourcing is planned ahead of the work
- Our leads run their areas against clear scorecards and bring forward solutions
- The business runs on the system, so it scales without depending on any one person
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 8-10+ years in operations leadership in a deadline-driven, client-service business. Agency, production, events, or similar.
- You have built operating systems and gotten teams to follow them. You know the difference between designing a process and making it work.
- You get into the detail. You are as comfortable in the work as you are above it, and you would rather build the machine than diagram it.
- You hold the line on standards. You address gaps directly and raise what needs leadership attention.
- Strong at capacity and resource planning, project profitability, and building KPIs and scorecards tied to efficiency, profitability, and scale
- You have developed managers into leaders, and you lead through others rather than carrying the work yourself
- You can hold a standard across a distributed team
- Clear, direct communicator who leads with follow-through
- A plus if you have run or adapted a formal operating system such as EOS, including meeting cadence, scorecards, and accountability structures
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Base salary of $180,000 to $200,000, plus performance bonuses
- Health, dental, and life insurance
- 401(k) with company contribution
- Paid time off, sick days, and holidays
- Remote work within the US, operating primarily on Eastern Time, with occasional travel as the work requires
