About the Role: 

As part of the Analytics division of JD Power, you will work to understand what features drive a vehicle's price and predict future values. Our data science team is accountable for every data point we output and provides industry-leading, accurate, transparent analytics. We are looking for a Data Scientist who will be free to utilize the latest technologies to solve challenging problems, create innovative machine learning processes from the ground up, deploy them into production, and develop the tools for monitoring them. We make data products and every new data product we output will solve a problem in the auto industry. Every Data Scientist will build models that go into production and directly impact our core products.

In this role, you will:

·         Immersing yourself daily in automotive industry data

·         Designing and deploying AI/ML solutions that process, link, and enrich automotive data at scale

·         Applying advanced methods such as LLMs, text and data mining, and classical machine learning to detect anomalies and interpret vehicle data

·         Conducting advanced model evaluation and optimization

·         Managing controlled rollout of data changes, from testing and approval through post-go-live monitoring

·         Documenting data workflows in terms of preprocessing logic, quality rules, validation results, and change records

·         Leading and managing complex end-to-end data science projects

·         Collaborating closely with technology and engineering teams to improve existing processes and build out new ones

·         Working with the product team to develop the analytics that will power new products

·         Leveraging mastery of Python and SQL for advanced data manipulation

·         Applying in-depth knowledge of Snowflake as AI data cloud platform

·         Creating visual reports in Tableau that summarize findings and provide transparency on data pipelines

·         Conducting ad-hoc data analysis and reporting

Required Qualifications:

·         At least 8 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6 years with a Graduate degree overall, that includes

• 4+ years of working with large and complex datasets in various formats (structured, semi-structured, unstructured data)

• 4+ years of applied Python programming for data science

• 4+ years of working with database software (MS SQL, Snowflake, or MySQL)

·         Hands-on experience with advanced AI/ML methods in data processing

·         Ability to communicate technical processes to a lay audience

·         Experience presenting analytical findings to internal stakeholders

·         Curiosity and passion for solving problems with data

·         Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience deploying python processes on Snowpark / Snowpark Container Services

·         Expertise deploying cloud-based ML Ops systems

·         Experience using Claude in ML or Data Science projects.

·         Some shareable examples of data visualizations you have created preferably with Tableau

·         Experience deploying machine learning models into production with an API

·         Experience with data engineering pipelines
·         Experience with automotive market data

·         PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field

·         Knowledge of other European languages is a plus
