  • Support expansion into new jurisdictions, including advising on local employment requirements, works councils, and other employee representative bodies, and support immigration-related matters in partnership with outside immigration counsel, including visa sponsorship and cross-border employment issues.
  • Partner with People & Culture on compensation, equity, and benefits programs to ensure legal compliance, including pay equity and pay transparency requirements, while monitoring emerging employment legislation and regulatory developments and translating them into practical readiness plans and policy updates.
  • Manage employment litigation, arbitrations, and administrative charges (e.g., EEOC, state agencies), including strategy, budget, and outside counsel relationships.
  • Advise on separation agreements, severance arrangements, and settlement negotiations, and partner with People & Culture on execution.
  • Provide employment law due diligence and support for M&A transactions, including workforce integration, harmonization of terms, and transition planning.
  • Advise on restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, and employee IP assignment provisions in partnership with the IP and Product Legal teams, and manage outside counsel relationships and budgets for employment litigation and specialized advice across jurisdictions.

What You'll Bring

  • JD (or equivalent) and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including significant employment law counseling and litigation management experience, ideally within a technology/software company; combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
  • Substantive experience advising on U.S. federal and multi-state employment law and experience with international employment matters.
  • Experience managing employment litigation, arbitrations, and agency charges.
  • Experience partnering directly with People & Culture and business leaders in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear policies and present concise, practical guidance to leadership.
  • Experience managing outside counsel relationships and budgets.
