We are looking to hire a Senior Cloud Solution Architect – Modernizing Infrastructure who is passionate about building strategy to scale solutions through processes and programs, develop high-quality, repeatable IP offerings assets for broad use by internal Microsoft delivery resources and help resolve escalations. You need to understand customers' overall cloud portfolio, IT and business priorities, and success measures to design implementation architectures and scalable cloud solutions leveraging expertise in cloud infrastructure solutions in Windows, Linux, Networking, Management, Storage, OSS, Infrastructure as code. 

You will drive building AI tools to increase operational efficiencies. You will coach field teams on various assets, value-based delivery, and embed delivery best practices into delivery guides. With deep technical expertise and a growth mindset, you’ll lead community programs, maintain certifications, and help shape Microsoft’s product roadmap by representing the voice of the customer. Responsibilities
  • Develop strategy to solve critical CAIP’s modernize infrastructure priorities across all Cloud+AI customers.
  • Build trusted relationships with many stakeholders across CE&S org and business leaders to shape cloud and AI strategies, acting as a technical advisor and champion for long-term success.
  • Develop high-quality, repeatable IP offerings for scale that can be delivered by various Microsoft teams and partners.
  • Design complex global solutions in Azure and hybrid connectivity. Requires a deep understanding of migrations of Window, Linux and overall Infrastructure services. 
  • Design and build automation/solutions for efficiencies.
  • Build the skilling required for field and influence the deliveries through various communities.
  • Unblock and accelerate customer’s migration efforts including solving for blockers – help architect solutions for customers.
  • Deliver Unified offerings with direct customer engagement for new solutions before scaling it out for field.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer; Share insights and best practices, and connect with Engineering teams to remove blockers and influence Microsoft’s product roadmap
  • Inspire AI adoption by sharing best practices, leading with Microsoft’s AI story, and helping customers innovate with confidence at scale.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

    • OR equivalent experience 

Other Requirements: 

  • Microsoft is unable to sponsor a work visa for this role due to the nature of the role’s job duties.   
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies

    • OR equivalent experience. 

  • 4+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external). 

  • 4+ years experience working on technical projects. 

  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code to design, build, test, and deploy infrastructure that supports application environments.

  • Background supporting application migrations involving components such as Windows and Linux virtual machines, databases, network file systems and server message block file shares, and virtual desktop infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated involvement in large‑scale infrastructure migrations, including on‑premises data center transitions to Azure, as well as building new Azure environments for emerging applications and services.

  • Proven aptitude for adopting new technologies, learn quickly, and stay current with relevant cloud platform trends and capabilities.

  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).


Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400.00 - $203,600.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600.00 - $222,600.00 per year.
