The Opportunity
Lumistry is a PE-backed SaaS company (~$40M ARR) serving the pharmacy market. We're building out our accounting function and need a Senior Accountant who owns the full cost side of the ledger and drives a tight 5-day close. You'll partner directly with the Controller and be a key contributor to a lean, high-accountability finance team. This is a high-visibility role - your schedules and reconciliations feed directly into board-level reporting.
What You'll Own
Month-End Close
- Execute all assigned close tasks within a 5-business-day close calendar
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset activity
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly with full support documentation
- Deliver flux analysis on balance sheet and cost line items - variance explanations ready for Controller review by close Day 5
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure cost completeness before books are locked
Balance Sheet Ownership
- Own the reconciliation suite: accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deposits, and other current and non-current balance sheet accounts
- Maintain fixed asset subledger - additions, disposals, depreciation runs, and physical inventory coordination
- Manage intercompany account reconciliations across Lumistry's business units; flag and resolve out-of-balance positions before close
- Keep prepaid schedules current - amortization accuracy and completeness each period
Cost Accounting
- Track and allocate COGS across product lines; ensure vendor invoices are coded to the correct cost center and GL account
- Build and maintain vendor accrual schedules - no material unrecorded costs at close
- Partner with department heads to understand spend timing and flag budget-to-actual variances that need explanation
- Support the Controller in cost trend analysis for board and investor reporting packages
Accounts Payable & Ramp
- Serve as the accounting team's primary owner of the Ramp platform - card program reconciliation, expense coding review, and policy exception escalation
- Review and approve AP coding for accuracy against chart of accounts and cost center structure
- Ensure vendor bills in NetSuite match POs and receiving documentation; manage discrepancy resolution
NetSuite Administration (Accounting)
- Maintain chart of accounts integrity - propose and document any additions or changes
- Run and distribute standard reports; build saved searches and custom reports to support close and analysis needs
- Identify and escalate workflow inefficiencies; partner with Controller on system optimization
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare audit-ready support packages for all balance sheet and cost accounts
- Respond to auditor PBC requests for assigned areas; maintain a clean, organized workpaper structure year-round
- Ensure documentation standards are met for every journal entry and reconciliation
Cross-Functional
- Collaborate with FP&A on actuals-to-budget reporting; provide GL-level detail to support variance commentary
- Partner with HR/Payroll to ensure compensation-related accruals and expense allocations are recorded accurately
- Support the Controller and CFO on ad hoc analysis, process improvement projects, and due diligence requests
What You Bring
Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years in accounting - you've held an accountant title, not just FP&A or analyst
- NetSuite experience required; Ramp or comparable T&E/card platform a strong plus
- Solid grasp of US GAAP, particularly around accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets
- Proven track record in a fast close environment (5 days or fewer)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Comfortable operating independently in a remote environment - proactive communicator, not a hand-holder
Competencies
- Technical rigor: you know accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets, and you can support every number in your reconciliations
- Systems fluency: you're fluent in NetSuite and Ramp, and you spot process improvements even when you're not the one setting policy
- Judgment under ambiguity: PE-backed SaaS moves fast; you make a sound call, document it, and flag it to leadership
- Process-minded: you look for manual reconciliations that could be eliminated with better systems, and you raise it
Why Lumistry
- Direct line to the Controller and CFO - your work lands in board decks
- Systems investment already made (NetSuite, Ramp) - you're optimizing, not building from scratch
- PE-backed growth stage - real scope, real visibility
- Remote-first, high-trust environment
Compensation
- Approximate range $85,000 - $100,000; commensurate with experience and skills.
Benefits
- Lumistry offers a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible time off, medical, dental, vision, and long-term disability coverage, fitness benefits, and more.
