Job Description

We are currently seeking a Remote Senior Accountant consultant for a project lasting over four months. This role is crucial in supporting ongoing business operations during a period of significant transformation, which includes recent ERP implementation, mergers and acquisitions activity, and audits. The Senior Accountant will ensure the smooth functioning of daily accounting tasks while the core team concentrates on project-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Review and post automatic recurring journal entries and rent voucher entries.
  • Maintain the lease accounting system and reconcile balances to the general ledger.
  • Review and ensure proper recording and reversal of month-end accrual entries.
  • Prepare and maintain account analysis and adjusting entries in line with internal policies.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to general ledger control accounts and supporting schedules, such as amortization.
  • Review trial balance departmentalization for compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain stock activity ledgers and prepare documentation for redemptions and purchases.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and foreign currency exchange entries.
  • Coordinate with external accountants on annual personal property tax returns, including data submission, review, and payment facilitation.
  • Process monthly and month-end reports for financial reporting packages.
  • Post system-generated journal entries, including revenue and revaluation entries.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules and assist with audit-related tasks.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, including coordinating physical inventories.
  • Research and apply GAAP/IFRS standards to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other related accounting duties as required.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting, IFRS, GAAP, and advanced Excel skills (vlookup, pivot table).
  • Experience with intercompany transactions, foreign currency, fixed assets accounting, ERP systems, and SQL queries.
  • Strong skills in journal entry, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and revenue recognition.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting are required. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Multi-year accounting experience in a large company with over $250M in revenue.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with large ERP systems and SQL is preferred.
  • Exposure to foreign currency exchange (FX) and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience in general ledger functions, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets, leasing, journal entries, and treasury.
  • Treasury and cash reconciling experience in a multi-bank, multi-currency environment.
  • Experience with profit and loss (P&L) review and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Experience with external audits and statutory audits for international entities.
Work Environment

This position offers the opportunity to work fully remotely from Monday to Friday, following Eastern Standard Time (EST). The role is based within a company known for its great culture and offers opportunities to learn new processes and systems in the AEC space.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $57.00/hr.
