Job Description:

GDIT is currently seeking a SCRUM Master for our program supporting NASA.

The Opportunity: The Aerospace Capabilities Portfolio Office (ACPO) runs ongoing software, data, and machine learning development supporting its applications and its broader data community. This work moves quickly: AI-accelerated development shortens delivery cycles and, in turn, increases the planning, coordination, and reporting burden placed on project management. ACPO needs a seasoned, data-forward Scrum Master who can absorb that burden, keep fast-moving teams aligned and unblocked, and turn strategy, priorities, and available team capacity into predictable day-to-day execution. This person uses delivery data to measure and continuously improve how the team performs, sets and enforces the standards the team works to, and coaches and pushes the team to meet them. This is a hands-on delivery role working directly with project leads and leadership, and its purpose is to make delivery run smoothly enough that leadership can rely on it.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate agile delivery end to end: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement, keeping each ceremony focused and time-boxed.
  • Work with project leads to translate strategy, priorities, and team resources into executable sprint and release plans, and keep day-to-day execution aligned to those priorities.
  • Remove impediments, coordinate cross-team and external dependencies, and protect the team’s focus so it can deliver consistently.
  • Produce clear delivery products and overviews (roadmaps, prioritization and trade-off views, delivery and status reporting) that let leadership make informed trade decisions on prioritization and investment.
  • Use delivery data to drive efficiency: track metrics (velocity, throughput, burn-down, cycle time, defect rate, and delivery-performance metrics), find where the team loses time or quality, and act on it to measurably improve how the team performs.
  • Establish the delivery and quality standards the team works to, document them, and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Adapt agile practice to an AI-accelerated pace: streamline planning and coordination so process keeps up with faster development cycles rather than slowing them down.
  • Manage the backlog with product owners and project leads, ensuring upcoming work is refined, estimated, and aligned to stakeholder needs.
  • Coach and push the team: raise the team’s agile discipline, hold people to commitments and standards, and foster a collaborative, high-performing delivery environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in agile delivery, Scrum Master, or agile project/program management roles.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain the relevant agency cleareance are required.
  • Active Scrum Master certification (e.g., PSM, CSM, or SAFe Scrum Master).
  • Deep, demonstrated command of Scrum and other agile frameworks (Kanban, SAFe, Lean), and of servant-leadership practice.
  • Demonstrated experience translating strategy and priorities into executable team plans and keeping delivery aligned to them.
  • Demonstrated experience producing delivery metrics, status products, and reporting that support leadership decision-making and prioritization.
  • Demonstrated use of delivery data and metrics to measurably improve team efficiency and quality (for example, reducing cycle time or defect rates).
  • Demonstrated experience setting delivery or quality standards and holding a team accountable to them, and coaching teams to a higher level of performance.
  • Proficiency with agile delivery tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar).

Desired:

  • Experience facilitating teams that build software, data, and applied AI/ML products.
  • Experience adapting agile process to fast-moving, AI-driven development.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring other Scrum Masters, or scaling agile across multiple teams.
  • Familiarity with software delivery-performance metrics, for example the DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) metrics, and building dashboards that give leadership visibility into delivery.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and programs simultaneously

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
