Position Summary

Syntax is seeking a SAP Functional Consultant – FICO to join our SAP Practice. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality SAP Finance and Controlling solutions, supporting clients through implementation, optimization, and ongoing enhancement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong functional expertise with consulting skills, business process knowledge, and a client-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in SAP FICO, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and Product Costing
• Gather, analyze, and validate business requirements from clients and translate them into effective SAP solutions
• Lead or support workshops, fit-gap sessions, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities
• Configure SAP FICO solutions in line with business requirements and SAP best practices
• Support full project lifecycle activities, including design, build, test, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and post-go-live support
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, integration consultants, project managers, and client stakeholders
• Prepare functional specifications for developments, enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows
• Support testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution
• Provide guidance on process improvements and optimization opportunities in finance and controlling processes
• Assist with data migration, reconciliation, and validation activities related to finance objects
• Support issue analysis and resolution for business process and system-related incidents
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including business process documents, functional designs, configuration documents, and training materials
• Participate in client status meetings and provide updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
• Support pre-sales activities by contributing to estimates, solution design, demos, and RFP/RFQ responses
• Stay current with SAP roadmap innovations and best practices in the FICO domain
• Promote Syntax’s commitment to quality, client satisfaction, and long-term trusted relationships

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant
• Proven experience in end-to-end SAP implementation projects
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and controlling business processes
• Experience with configuration and support in core SAP FICO areas
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and effective SAP solutions
• Experience creating functional specifications and working closely with technical teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Professional proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with S/4HANA Finance
• Knowledge of integration points with MM, SD, PS, or other SAP modules
• SAP certification in FICO or S/4HANA Finance
• Consulting experience in a client-facing environment
• Experience supporting global or multi-country deployments
• Familiarity with tax, localization, and statutory reporting requirements
