Position Overview

At Creekside Organics, we’re passionate about connecting family farms with customers across North America. We’re a relationship-driven, values-led organic produce company built around strong grower partnerships, great people, exceptional service, and a commitment to thinking beyond today.

We’re looking for a relationship-driven, commercially minded Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and growing customer accounts, selling a diverse portfolio of organic produce, and working closely with our growers and internal teams to connect the right product with the right customers.

The ideal candidate thrives in the fast-moving produce industry, builds strong relationships, takes ownership of their business, and balances customer needs with market conditions, profitability, and grower objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Sales & Account Development: Manage and grow assigned customer accounts by building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities across commodities and programs, negotiating pricing, and driving profitable volume.
  • Daily Sales & Market Management: Actively sell available product, respond to changing supply and market conditions, manage pricing, and balance customer needs with product movement and grower returns.
  • Commodity & Product Management: Develop strong knowledge of assigned commodities, including availability, quality, sizing, pack styles, seasonality, pricing, and market conditions. Maintain current commodity information and communicate relevant updates and opportunities to the team.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Problem Solving: Work with supply operations, quality, compliance, accounting, and sales teams to coordinate customer programs and resolve order, quality, and service issues.
  • Sales Planning & Analysis: Use customer history, purchasing trends, inventory, and market information to identify opportunities and support crop, promotional, and program planning.
  • New Business Development: Prospect, pursue, and develop qualified new business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of sales experience; produce, agriculture, food distribution, or another perishable industry preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building and account development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, growers, and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving skills with sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Commercial mindset with an understanding of volume, pricing, profitability, and customer growth.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple customers, commodities, and time-sensitive priorities.
  • High level of ownership and accountability and ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Ability to travel for customer and grower visits, trade shows, and company meetings as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings strong sales and relationship-building skills along with the curiosity, initiative, and judgment to serve our customers and growers well. The right person will:

  • Stay centered on service. You take the time to understand customers, anticipate their needs, and bring solutions. You build relationships that last beyond an individual sale.
  • Take ownership. You take initiative, follow through, and know when to bring in others.
  • Be curious. You want to understand the crop, customer, market, and business behind the sale. You ask questions, stay informed, and use what you learn to make better decisions.
  • Bring sound judgment. You’re comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving market, balancing customer needs, product movement, pricing, profitability, and grower interests.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively. You share information early, keep customers and teammates informed, and raise issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Think beyond today. You balance immediate opportunities with long-term relationships and make decisions that support our customers, growers, team, and business over time.
  • Be a team player. You take ownership of your business while sharing information, supporting your teammates, and collaborating toward shared success.
