Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Research Systems Administrator and System Director of Research, in collaboration with the Information Technology Security and Data Analytics teams, assists in the creation and testing of research protocols into the infrastructure of EMR systems as needed to drive compliant billing practices.  Position works closely with clinical researchers to identify the data needs to support clinical research projects, nursing excellence, and the strategic initiatives set by UofL Health leadershp.

Essential Functions:

• Work closely with the UofL Health Research Office team and IT to support the institutional compliance and oversight function. Works to identify gaps in research data and to improve, develop, and implement process changes that increase data quality and reliability. This includes working closely with the Research Systems Administrator, Research Contract Compliance Manager, Research Operations manager and Research Finance Analysts. to understand complex processes and translate them as required for systems builds.
• Creates, completes research protocol builds in EPIC, Cerner and other systems as needed to maintain data continuity throughout the life of clinical trials
• Design and build reports in support of the clinical research mission and strategic initiatives using reporting all available reporting tools in Cerner, Epic, Power PB, Strata and clinical trial management systems.
• Create and maintain research reports as needed for protocol development, patient screening and eligibility and discreet data points as requested by clinical researchers and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. 
• Develop REDCap databases in the ULHRO, Nursing Education and Research, and others as needed.

Exempt position works 80 productive hours each pay period and paid biweekly.

Daily hours are flexible as long as no less than 80 productive hours are worked.

On occasion, position may require additional hours to meet deadlines or for special projects.

Other Functions:

• Create and maintain monthly reports of key metrics and productivity for leadership analysis
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Healthcare related field(required)
• Equivalent work experience acceptable

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare data (Required)
• Experience with Epic and/or Cerner (Required)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical research (Preferred)
• Experience with Academic REDCap (Preferred)
