Research Assistant – Health and Nutrition Unit (HNU)
The Research Assistant will support the HNU in implementing an upcoming program focused on strengthening the nutrition competences of frontline health workers. The role involves rigorous document analysis, stakeholder coordination, data collection and processing, mapping nursing and midwifery curricula, and developing assessment tools (e.g., OSCEs) and supporting policy drafting for Joint Memorandum Circulars.
Key responsibilities include conducting literature reviews and field research; the collection, processing, and management of research data; supporting curriculum analysis and assessment tool development; preparing reports and presentations; monitoring research quality and progress; and coordinating with government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Midwifery, or a related field, with research experience and strong data management, organizational, and communication skills. They must also possess proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft office, PRC registration/licensure where applicable, and valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification. A willingness to undertake fieldwork and access to a reliable computer and internet connection is also necessary.

Contract Duration: November 2026 to September 2027

Requirements
Education & Professional Credentials
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Midwifery, or a related health/science discipline.
- Licensure: Active registration/licensure with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), as applicable.
- Certification: Valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification.
- Mandatory Training: Completion of the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) course before engagement.
Personal & Working Requirements
- Current resident of the Philippines.
- Access to a personal computer and a reliable, high-speed internet connection (remote work set-up)
- Availability and willingness to travel onsite/fieldwork as required by the project schedule.
Core Technical Skills & Experience
- Research: Prior experience in academic content synthesis, literature reviews, curriculum
analysis, or field surveys.
- Data Management: Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software, database tools, and standard office applications (Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino.
- Project & Time Management: Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and managing competing priorities under minimal supervision.
- Physical Requirement: Physical stamina for field visits, standing, walking, and handling project materials when necessary.
