The Remote Sensing Technician is responsible for the hands-on deployment and operation of advanced sensor systems across aircraft and ground platforms. They perform real-time quality control, equipment maintenance, and coordinate with operational crews to ensure project objectives are met safely.

Position Summary
The Remote Sensing Technician serves as a field-based operator responsible for the hands-on deployment and operation of advanced sensor systems across various platforms, including aircraft and ground vehicles. This role focuses on ensuring high quality data acquisition and optimal system performance through technical expertise and a proactive approach to field operations. The technician works closely with operational crews to meet project objectives while maintaining a steadfast commitment to safety and precision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Field Operation: Operating, and monitoring remote sensors across different deployment platforms, ensuring all systems are functioning according to technical specifications.
• Data Quality Assurance: Performing rigorous real-time quality control checks during data acquisition to identify and resolve issues immediately, ensuring the integrity of collected datasets.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conducting comprehensive pre-flight and pre deployment equipment checks, performing routine maintenance, and executing minor field repairs to minimize downtime.
• Coordination: Collaborating effectively with flight and ground operation crews to synchronize activities and ensure all mission-specific project objectives are met. • Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhering to all company safety protocols, aviation/operational regulations, and regulatory procedures during field deployments.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely records and documentation as required.
• Compliance: Following all applicable company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of experience in data acquisition, geospatial operations, or project management, with experience in a leadership capacity.
• Imagery, lidar, bathymetric, or geophysical data collection experience required. • Familiarity with large-format airborne sensors is essential.
• Proficiency in geospatial data platforms (ESRI products, Global Mapper, QGIS, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (Asana, MS Office, Google Workspace).
• Valid driver's license.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but are not required:
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field preferred. • Operation of remote sensing technology.

• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work. • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and accurately prepare reports, travel itineraries, schedules, contracts, and other business documents on computer screens and printed documents.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, pilots, management, vendors, customers, and external partners via telephone, email, video conferencing, and other communication platforms.
• Ability to travel occasionally, if required.
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends, to support operational needs.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
