Southern Transport is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive high-value, relationship-based revenue across the Rocky Mountain region.
This role is built for an experienced oil & gas logistics professional with established relationships and a proven track record in heavy haul transportation. The focus is on securing and growing freight tied to compressor packages, coil tubing reels, and production equipment.
The right person brings more than activity. They bring credibility in the field, trusted relationships, and the ability to convert opportunities into consistent, repeat business.

This role is central to expanding Southern’s presence in the Rocky Mountain region by strengthening relationships with key operators, service providers, and equipment companies.
Success means building a reliable pipeline of high-margin freight, increasing utilization of equipment and crews, and positioning Southern as a preferred partner for complex, time-sensitive moves.
What You’ll Do
Own and grow a multi-state territory across the Rocky Mountain region
Develop and manage relationships with oil & gas operators, compression companies, and service providers
Secure and expand heavy haul opportunities involving compressor packages, coil tubing reels, and production equipment
Build a consistent pipeline aligned to Southern’s operational strengths and capabilities
Partner closely with operations and dispatch to ensure execution meets customer expectations
Expand existing accounts and identify new opportunities within key customer networks
Maintain visibility into market activity, customer demand, and competitive positioning
Travel regularly throughout the region to support customer relationships and active projects
What Success Looks Like
Establishes a strong, qualified pipeline within the first 90 days
Generates consistent booked revenue tied to repeat customers and multi-load opportunities
Builds long-term relationships that result in predictable, ongoing freight
Aligns sold work with operational capabilities, ensuring successful delivery and customer satisfaction
Becomes a recognized and trusted partner within key accounts across the region
Required Experience
8+ years of experience in heavy haul, oilfield logistics, or specialized transportation sales
Demonstrated success generating $8M+ annual revenue or managing high-value accounts
Established relationships within oil & gas, including operators, compression companies, or service providers
Strong understanding of heavy haul equipment, routing, permitting, and field operations
Proven ability to operate independently across a multi-state territory
Preferred Background
Experience supporting moves involving compressor packages, coil tubing, or production equipment
Background with heavy haul carriers, crane companies, or oilfield logistics providers
Familiarity with Rocky Mountain and/or Bakken basin operations
