JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional Director is responsible for the full market entry lifecycle (end-to-end) management of large scale/complex crane and rigging projects. Ownership includes but is not limited to market development, national accounts and process standardization.  When applicable, the role owns the process of implementing branch locations, teams, customer base and operating systems; to include, developing branch managers to own daily operations. 

This role should be operated with a high level of autonomy and is expected to independently manage multiple projects, develop and maintain customer relationships, and ensure successful project delivery aligned with company standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Accountability for Full P&L of the Oklahoma operation, including revenue ramp, operating expense discipline, fleet utilization economics, and working capital hygiene (billing, collections, and job costing).
  • Establish site selection and facility standup for the OKC/Tulsa yard, including interstate access, yard capacity, security, and expansion headroom.
  • Coordination of fleet deployment with existing Wilkerson branches during the startup phase to minimize incremental CapEx until demand justifies dedicated assets.
  • Build Oklahoma customer base across general contractors, steel erectors, industrial owners, EPC firms, utilities, refineries, and data center contractors, consistent with the market thesis in the approved business plan.
  • Identify existing Wilkerson regional and national accounts with Oklahoma operations and coordinate cross-branch account strategy.
  • Develop turnaround/outage and data center verticals in the region, in coordination with corporate BD initiatives.
  • Implement CRM, dispatch (FCC/NexGen), ELD (Samsara), KPI dashboards, and safety documentation at the Oklahoma branch consistent with corporate standards.
  • Codify the startup branch playbook — processes, staffing sequence, systems configuration — as a repeatable model for future greenfield and acquisition integrations.
  • Contribute to the integration playbook commitments made at the board level as acquisition targets close.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop the Branch Manager and the startup team (dispatcher, operators, CDL drivers, yard and administrative staff), with staffing paced to demonstrated demand.
    • Establish safety, accountability, and customer-service standards from day one; own OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and crane certification compliance at the branch level.
    • Participate in the leadership cadence with existing branch leadership; share best practices and standardize reporting.
    • Provide market intelligence and pipeline visibility to corporate leadership and as requested, support board reporting on the Oklahoma launch.
    • Other duties as assigned by executive management.



    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • 10+ years of progressive leadership in crane, rigging, specialized transportation, or equipment rental/services, including multi-site or startup operational responsibility.
    • Demonstrated P&L ownership and experience building teams, processes, and customer bases from an early stage.
    • Established relationships and credibility across the industrial, energy, EPC, and commercial construction sectors in the central U.S.
    • Working fluency with operational systems (CRM, dispatch, ERP, telematics) and KPI-driven management.
    • Deep commitment to safety culture and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, NCCCO operator standards).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
    • High Level of detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
    • Ability to travel extensively across the branch network during the launch and standardization phases.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk in well-lit, air conditioned/heated office environment, completing project documentation, and attending virtual or in-person meetings
    • Frequent travel to and from jobsites, requiring prolonged periods of driving
    • Ability to walk, stand, climb, and navigate uneven terrain, elevated surfaces, and active work zones for extended periods during site visits
    • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and wet environments
