You will own the solution design for finance automation, working with process owners to define requirements and guide the engineering team through build and testing. You will also ensure the automated close process meets audit standards and aligns with SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
Contract: Duration being confirmed. Start: 15 November 2026. Location: Remote, for consultants based in the United Kingdom. Day rate: GBP 450 a day. Language: English.
An established organisation is automating its finance operations on Redwood Finance Automation. The work covers the record-to-report cycle: the period-end close, account reconciliation, journal processing and the reporting that follows, all connected to the organisation's ERP.
You will own the solution design. You will work with the finance process owners to understand how the close runs today, decide what to automate and in what order, and set out a design the engineering team can build. You will then stay with that design through build, testing and go-live, and make the calls when what was designed meets what is real.
Current-state analysis of the record-to-report processes with controllers and finance operations leads. The target automation design across close, reconciliation, journals and intercompany, written up as the solution design. Decisions on what standard Redwood capability covers and where an extension is justified. The integration design with SAP S/4HANA or ECC and the other source systems. Balance sheet auto-certification rules, controls, approvals and audit trail designed into the solution, so the automated close stands up to audit. Guidance to the engineers through build, and review of what they deliver against the design. Test strategy and acceptance criteria with the finance users. A roadmap for the next waves of automation once the first processes are live.
Solution design ownership on at least one live Redwood Finance Automation (RunMyFinance) implementation, where you ran the design workshops and wrote the design yourself. 8 or more years in finance transformation, finance systems or record-to-report process design. A working understanding of SAP FI/CO, or the Oracle equivalent, and how close and reconciliation data flows between the ERP and the automation layer. Experience running workshops with finance users and turning what they say into a design that can be built and tested. The standing to work with senior finance stakeholders and hold a design position when it is challenged.
Useful but not essential:
Hands-on build experience on Redwood, so you know what your design asks of the engineers. BlackLine, Trintech, or SAP Advanced Financial Closing. A finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar). Financial services or another regulated industry, including work under SOX or similar audit controls.
Apply with your CV and your available start date. With it, add three lines on your most recent Redwood implementation: the finance processes in scope, the ERP it connected to, and which design decisions were yours.
