We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient QuickBooks Accountant to manage accounting and bookkeeping activities for US-based clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records while meeting strict deadlines. This role requires ownership, analytical thinking, process discipline, and effective communication during US business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities for US-based clients using QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Record, classify, and review income, expenses, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Perform accurate bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Review financial data for discrepancies, incorrect entries, duplicate transactions, and unusual balances.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records and support timely payment and collection tracking.
  • Assist with client invoicing, expense reimbursements, payroll-related journal entries, and other accounting processes.
  • Manage chart of accounts, journal entries, adjustments, and month-end closing activities as required.
  • Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready financial documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, CPAs, tax professionals, and internal accounting teams whenever required.
  • Prepare periodic accounting reports and communicate financial discrepancies or pending requirements proactively.
  • Ensure all accounting activities are completed accurately and within defined timelines.


Requirements

Performance Expectations

  • High accuracy in transaction recording, classification, and reconciliation.
  • Timely completion of weekly and monthly accounting activities.
  • Reliable maintenance of clean, organized, and audit-ready books.
  • Proactive identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies.
  • Consistent adherence to accounting processes, client instructions, and reporting deadlines.
  • Clear documentation and professional communication with clients and accounting stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership of financial data integrity and accounting deliverables.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 1–3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably with US-based clients.
  • Strong practical experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial statements.
  • Practical understanding of US bookkeeping practices and accounting workflows.
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Stable internet connection and personal laptop.
  • Willingness to work US night shifts and commit to the role long-term.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting US small businesses, accounting firms, or international clients.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and month-end closing.
  • Exposure to Zoho Books, Xero, Sage, or other accounting platforms.
  • Experience using Slack, Trello, Asana, or similar collaboration and project-management tools.
  • Basic understanding of US sales tax, 1099-related bookkeeping support, or CPA coordination.
