QA Tester, Data Integration - Remote 12 Month Contract

OVERVIEW

Reporting to Manager, IT Quality Assurance and working closely with the QA Lead, the 12-month Contract position of QA Tester performs hands-on testing for a new enterprise data platform that integrates and consolidates data from multiple source systems, including SAP and CRM, into a single, centralized source on AWS. This role focuses on integration testing across source systems and detailed data validation to confirm the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of integrated data across QA and Production environments. The QA Tester analyzes technical specifications and data-mapping documentation, identifies and resolves defects in partnership with development teams, and produces detailed reports and documentation of all testing efforts. A naturally curious and investigative mindset is essential to interrogate data, question anomalies, and drive issues to root cause. Their work is vital in delivering a reliable, high-quality data platform that aligns with organizational standards and business expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test Execution: Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios for the data integration platform across QA and Production environments.
• Integration Testing: Perform integration testing across source systems such as SAP and CRM, verifying that data flows correctly between systems and into the consolidated platform.
• Data Validation: Conduct detailed data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality checks to confirm the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of integrated data. Work closely with development teams to reproduce, isolate, and resolve data discrepancies.
• Documentation Analysis: Review technical specifications and data-mapping documents to understand intended data flows and identify potential areas of concern.
• Reporting & Documentation: Produce detailed reports and documentation for all testing efforts, including results, data logs, and defect tracking, to maintain accurate records and facilitate communication.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate test progress, results, and issues to the QA Lead and project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.
• Defect Analysis & Resolution: Analyze test results to identify, document, and resolve defects; partner with development teams to reproduce, isolate, and verify fixes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record of executing various types of testing, identifying defects, and ensuring quality.
• Experience with integration testing and/or testing data across enterprise systems such as SAP and CRM is required.
• Hands-on experience with data validation and reconciliation; exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS) is an asset.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, test management and data validation tools.

• Strong intellectual curiosity and an investigative mindset—naturally digs into data, questions anomalies, and pursues root cause.
• Can effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working Hours

• Covering the core hours of operation, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM local time, this is a Full-Time position, scheduled forty (40) hours per week, working not less than 37.5 hours per week.
• Extra or flexible hours, including occasional after-hours and weekend support, may be required.

Expected Compensation:

• An annual base salary in the range of $70,000 to $85,000.
• The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects a potential base salary range for this role.  The actual salary offered will be determined within the range, and will depend on factors, such as the candidate’s unique qualifications, relevant experience, work location and expected contributions.
