Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for processing supply orders for all Medical, Dental and administrative offices. This role ensures that all departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties efficiently. The Purchasing Agent will document all orders and follow-up through the Purchasing Help Desk.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Follow the company’s policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services
Process all supply orders for Medical, Dental and administrative offices
Create and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to solicit bids from vendors, ensuring the selection of suppliers that offer the best value for the company
Actively seek and negotiate the best pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings
Create cost comparison reports and make recommendations based on determined cost/benefit
Verify pricing accuracy and address any discrepancies found on vendors’ websites, invoices, or quotes
Ensure the Purchasing Help Desk is provided with accurate information and approvals to process orders
Audit packing slips provided by users through the Purchasing Help Desk for accuracy
Maintain effective communication with colleagues
Provide excellent internal and external customer service
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
Proven work experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role
Extensive knowledge of vendors and purchasing procedures
Hands-on experience with purchasing software
Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct analyses
Physical Requirement:
Requires extended periods of sitting and computer use
