The Project Manager will own the end-to-end delivery of customer implementations, coordinating between internal teams and clients to ensure successful go-lives. They are responsible for establishing project governance, managing milestones, and proactively identifying risks to keep projects on track.
As a Project Manager, Implementation, you will own the end-to-end delivery of customer implementations, ensuring every project is well planned, effectively governed and successfully delivered through to go-live and handover.
You will act as the central point of coordination between our customers and internal teams, bringing together multiple stakeholders, workstreams and, where applicable, countries into one clear implementation plan. You will establish strong project governance from day one, manage milestones and dependencies, identify risks early and ensure both customers and internal teams remain accountable for their commitments.
This is a highly client-facing role. You will lead kick-offs, governance and status meetings, provide clear visibility of project progress and confidently manage conversations when timelines or deliverables are at risk.
You won't be expected to be the technical payroll expert. You'll work closely with our Implementation Managers and country specialists who own the technical and payroll elements of delivery. Your role is to make sure all of those moving parts come together — on time, with clear ownership and with the customer ready for a successful go-live.
We're looking for someone who doesn't simply track a project, but actively drives it forward. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced global environment, managing complexity and creating structure where it's needed, while delivering an excellent implementation experience for our customers.
Strong project management experience, ideally within payroll, HR technology, SaaS, implementation or another complex client-facing environment.
Proven experience managing end-to-end customer implementations or transformation projects.
Strong understanding of project governance, including project planning, RAID management, RACI frameworks, dependencies, milestones and escalation management.
Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously, often across different countries and time zones.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to work with senior client and internal stakeholders.
Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, including the ability to lead governance meetings and manage difficult conversations.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain control of complex projects with multiple moving parts.
Strong risk-management mindset with the ability to identify potential issues early rather than reacting once milestones have been missed.
Ability to hold clients and internal stakeholders accountable for actions and deadlines while maintaining strong working relationships.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling environment where processes and operating models continue to evolve.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to determine when an issue can be resolved within the project and when escalation is required.
Experience working with project management and CRM tools such as ClickUp, Salesforce or equivalent platforms.
Understanding of payroll implementation, global payroll, EOR or HR technology would be highly advantageous.
Experience managing multi-country or global implementations in mandatory.
Project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent are beneficial but should not be essential.
Own the end-to-end implementation project from kick-off through go-live and successful handover.
Build and maintain the implementation project plan, ensuring milestones, dependencies and deadlines are clearly defined and actively managed.
Establish the project governance framework, including the RACI, meeting cadence, communication channels and escalation paths.
Lead client kick-off meetings and ensure roles, responsibilities, timelines and expectations are understood from the outset.
Act as the primary project management contact for the client throughout implementation.
Coordinate multiple workstreams, countries and Implementation Managers across complex global implementations.
Maintain clear visibility of the status of every country/workstream, including completed activities, upcoming milestones, dependencies and risks.
Proactively identify project risks, blockers and delays, and drive actions to resolution before they impact go-live.
Manage project RAID logs, action trackers, decision logs and other required implementation documentation.
Lead regular client governance and status meetings, providing clear and accurate reporting on overall implementation progress.
Coordinate internal stakeholders across Implementation, Payroll Operations, Customer Success, Product, Sales and other relevant teams.
Ensure client-owned actions, data requirements and dependencies are clearly communicated and followed through.
Drive the project toward the agreed go-live date, escalating where timelines or readiness are at risk.
Coordinate go-live readiness and ensure required implementation exit criteria have been completed before transition.
Manage the structured handover from Implementation into Customer Success and BAU operations.
Ensure project documentation and implementation records are complete, accurate and maintained throughout the project.
Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring implementation challenges and opportunities to improve processes, tools and the client experience.
