Background
Sustainable Food Systems @ Heart is an innovation portfolio of the American Heart Association focused on transforming food systems into measurable drivers of human and planetary health. Within Sustainable Food Systems @ Heart, The Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI)® serves to build the scientific infrastructure to move food to a health solution.
Specifically, The Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI)® is a science-to-action effort of the Rockefeller Foundation that is managed by the American Heart Association. The PTFI offers standardized multi-omics tools, data, and training to a global ecosystem to characterize food quality and biomarkers of consumption and health. Our global ecosystem is mapping food quality based on diverse components, including macronutrients, micronutrients, and specialized metabolites, as well as their variation across food systems. PTFI’s vision is a world where stakeholders in food, agriculture and health are enabled to lead data-driven solutions that provide healthy food from sustainable food systems. https://foodperiodictable.org

The Program Manager works across internal teams and external collaborators to identify and develop opportunities that advance the application of PTFI science and data across food, nutrition, and health. The role contributes to fundraising and revenue development through grant proposals, corporate engagement, and other strategic partnerships, while also supporting product development within the American Heart Association and with external partners. This includes assessing opportunities, developing proposals and concepts, coordinating cross-functional activities, and helping translate scientific and stakeholder needs into actionable product and partnership strategies.
