Overview

Leads the design, development, testing, release, and support of complex Business Central and cross-platform mobile solutions. Serves as a technical leader by making sound design decisions, mentoring developers, resolving difficult technical problems, and improving engineering quality and delivery practices.


What This Position Owns

  • Visioning and Competitive Intelligence (20%): Shape domain direction using market signals, customer insight, and competitor analysis; propose strategic bets, positioning updates, and sequencing changes tied to business outcomes.
  • Backlog and Sprint Readiness (15%): Own backlog health by prioritizing and preparing work so items are sprint-ready with clear scope, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and delivery sequencing.
  • Stakeholder and Cross-Team Alignment (10%): Align Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, and Implementation on priorities, timing, tradeoffs, and customer commitments so execution and messaging remain consistent.
  • Customer Discovery and Validation (15%): Engage users and customers, including dispatchers, technicians, and service managers, to validate problems, test assumptions, and convert learning into better priorities and requirements.
  • Solutioning and Tradeoff Work (10%): Partner with Engineering to evaluate solution options and make practical decisions across customer value, effort, risk, scalability, and time to value.
  • Escalations and Issue Triage (10%): Lead or coordinate priority customer and product issue response, including triage, decision-making, stakeholder communication, and prevention actions that reduce recurrence.
  • Quality Validation and Platform Release Readiness (10%): Confirm product behavior through UAT support, regression validation, and release-impact checks; stay current on major platform releases and features to protect compatibility and identify product opportunities.
  • Documentation Review and Enablement Readiness (5%): Verify release documentation is accurate, complete, and usable across customer-facing guides, internal support notes, and enablement materials.
  • KPI Review and Outcome Tracking (5%): Monitor adoption and service-performance metrics, interpret outcome trends, and feed learning back into roadmap and backlog decisions.

How Success Is Measured

  • Success is measured by backlog health and sprint readiness; quality of product decisions and cross-team alignment; validated customer learning; timely resolution of priority issues; release quality and platform compatibility; documentation readiness; feature adoption; service-performance trends; and measurable movement in product and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a fact-based product-domain perspective using customer feedback, support patterns, market signals, competitive research, platform changes, and performance data.
  • Propose product bets, positioning changes, and roadmap sequencing updates with a clear connection to customer and business outcomes.
  • Own and continuously prioritize the backlog based on customer value, strategic fit, revenue impact, risk, technical health, effort, and time to value.
  • Translate priorities into sprint-ready work with clear problem statements, scope, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and sequencing.
  • Lead backlog refinement and provide timely product decisions before and during development.
  • Plan and conduct discovery with relevant users and customers, document findings, test assumptions, and incorporate validated learning into requirements and priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering to evaluate solution options, understand technical constraints, and make explicit tradeoff decisions.
  • Align Support, Sales, Implementation, Product, and Engineering on priorities, timing, customer commitments, release impact, and messaging.
  • Lead or coordinate triage for priority product and customer issues, including decision-making, stakeholder updates, and prevention follow-up.
  • Support UAT, regression validation, and release-impact reviews to confirm that product behavior meets expectations.
  • Monitor major Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related platform releases for compatibility risks and product opportunities.
  • Approve completed work against acceptance criteria and intended customer outcomes before release.
  • Review customer-facing documentation, internal support notes, release communications, and enablement materials for accuracy and readiness.
  • Monitor adoption and service KPIs, interpret trends, and use the findings to adjust roadmap, backlog, discovery, and enablement decisions.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience owning a B2B software product area or product backlog and translating strategy, market insight, and customer problems into clear priorities and development outcomes.
  • Strong capability in customer discovery, competitive analysis, requirements definition, backlog management, facilitation, stakeholder communication, issue triage, UAT, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience with SaaS, ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and rental, service, field-service, or industrial-asset workflows is strongly preferred.
