Position Overview
The Product Manager, AV Solutions is responsible for the strategy, management, and lifecycle of Laerdal’s Audio Visual (AV) solutions portfolio across North America. This role oversees AV hardware, software, integration, installation standards, and supplier relationships while driving the development, launch, and continuous improvement of AV solutions that support customer and business needs.

Working closely with Product Management, Software Development, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Field Services teams, the Product Manager ensures AV offerings are technically sound, commercially ready, and aligned with Laerdal’s strategic objectives. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for AV solutions, providing leadership in product planning, testing, training, documentation, and operational execution.

Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Own the AV product roadmap and portfolio strategy for North America.
  • Identify emerging technologies, market opportunities, and product enhancements.
  • Define requirements and lead the lifecycle management of AV hardware and software solutions.
  • Manage AV catalog offerings and turnkey solution packages.

Product Development & Commercial Readiness

  • Lead new AV solution development from requirements through launch and market release.
  • Define compatibility, integration, and performance requirements for AV technologies.
  • Support sourcing, product in-phasing/out-phasing, and component lifecycle management.
  • Ensure solutions are commercially ready and aligned with customer needs.

Testing & Technical Excellence

  • Manage testing and validation processes for AV hardware and software.
  • Establish testing standards and benchmarking environments to ensure solution reliability.
  • Develop troubleshooting tools and methodologies to identify hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for AV-related escalations and support.

Documentation & Training

  • Maintain product specifications, master data, and technical documentation.
  • Communicate product releases, updates, and lifecycle changes across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for field service teams and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure internal and customer-facing resources remain accurate and up to date.

Supply Chain & Vendor Management

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to support forecasting, inventory planning, and hardware availability.
  • Manage relationships with AV vendors and technology partners.
  • Identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
  • Conduct ongoing forecast reviews and support annual planning activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Management, Software Development, Field Services, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and Project Management teams.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to support product launches, implementation, and customer success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for AV hardware standards, processes, and best practices.

Customer & Market Insights

  • Gather Voice of Customer feedback to drive product improvements and innovation.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate customer and market insights into product strategies and investment priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of AV industry experience, including expertise with AV standards such as Dante, NDI, RTSP, VISCA, UVC, and AV software solutions.
  • 3+ years of product management experience, preferably supporting software-integrated hardware, AV technology, or IoT solutions.
  • Ideal candidate must reside in the continental US, willing to work East Coast hours
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Experience sourcing and integrating third-party hardware into customer-facing solutions.
  • Proven track record of bringing technical products to market.
  • Strong understanding of hardware integration, device communication protocols, and connected technologies.
  • Experience managing vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to balance technical expertise with market and customer insights to drive product direction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience defining product requirements, prioritizing roadmaps, user testing, and product validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies to support product innovation, operational efficiency, and customer value.

Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000, eligible for 9% annual bonus

The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, but not limited to; the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, location, level of education attained, and/or professional certifications, years of relevant experience, special skills, etc.
