AI Summary

You will own the product roadmap across the API, customer dashboard, and new product lines while acting as the primary bridge between leadership, engineering, and go-to-market teams. You will conduct direct customer discovery to translate complex logistics workflows into actionable technical requirements.

About the Role

Catena Clearing is the permissioned data layer for freight. One consent-based API connects 290+ telematics and ELD providers, 99.8% of the U.S. ELD market and returns normalized, verifiable data on more than a million live trucks. Unlike read-only feeds, Catena runs bi-directional write-back in production: software doesn't just look at fleet data through us, it acts through us for authorizing fuel purchases, syncing TMS records, and clearing dispatches.

We serve 40+ platform customers across six revenue verticals including fuel cards and payments, TMS and dispatch, load boards, insurance and risk, safety, and AI fleet operations. We are backed by Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Teamworthy, Plug and Play, and 20+ industry angels. Freight never built its shared source of truth. We are building it.

The Role

You will be the product owner for the Catena platform. The person who turns what our customers are trying to do into what our engineers build next. You'll sit between six verticals of demanding enterprise customers, a 290+endpoint API, and a team that ships daily. Product at Catena isn't dashboards and feature counts: it's deciding which data families, write paths, and workflow surfaces make the network more valuable for everyone on it.

This is a high-ownership seat. You'll work directly with the CEO, the Head of Engineering, and our forward-deployed engineering team, and you'll spend real time with customers like fuel-card risk teams, TMS product leads, insurance underwriters, because our roadmap is written from their workflows, not our whiteboard.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product roadmap across the API, Catena Connect (carrier onboarding), the customer dashboard, and new product lines like Track-and-Trace and fleet intelligence.
  • Discover directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, and decision-making then translate that into crisp requirements engineering can ship against.
  • Operate as the single-threaded owner between leadership, engineering, forward-deployed engineering, and go-to-market on what gets built and when.
  • Shape data products, not just features: normalized schemas, write-back flows, webhooks, scorecards, and the surfaces AI agents will consume.
  • Define success metrics tied to customer outcomes, consumption, expansion, and retention not shipped-feature counts.
  • Partner with Customer Success and forward-deployed engineering on adoption and expansion; our ~200% NRR is the product working, and you'll own keeping it that way.
  • Move fast. We iterate in public, share half-formed ideas early, and ship on predictable timelines.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience in freight, logistics, telematics, or supply chain.  You know what a TMS does, why an ELD matters, and how a broker thinks about a carrier.
  • Experience with B2B data products, APIs, or platforms. You're comfortable reading API docs, debating schema design, and writing requirements engineers respect.
  • A track record of taking products from concept through launch and iteration, on timelines you committed to.
  • Strong customer discovery instincts: you'd rather spend an hour with a dispatcher than a day with a survey.
  • The ability to simplify complex systems into intuitive experiences for developers, operators, and executives.
  • Comfort with high autonomy and high accountability in a seed stage company where product ownership is currently shared by the founders. You'll take it from them.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with telematics platforms (Samsara, Motive, Geotab), TMS systems, or fleet-adjacent fintech.
  • Exposure to geospatial or real-time event-driven systems.
  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
  • Familiarity with AI/agent-facing product surfaces or data-intensive products.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity (range shared during the process).
  • Employer-covered medical, dental, and vision.
  • Flexible PTO, US holidays, and paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • A seat at the table as we scale through our Series A, every function here is run by a named person, and product will be yours.

How We Work

We are builders first. We iterate over perfecting, communicate openly, and measure ourselves on customer outcomes. Fifteen people run six revenue verticals, 290 integrations, and an enterprise customer base, capital efficiency is the operating system, and everyone ships.

In addition to this application: please send your resume and a short note on a product you shipped for the freight or logistics industry to careers@catenaclearing.io.

Catena Clearing is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
