Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Professional Services vertical to make Unit4 the preferred ERP for mid-market firms. Lead dedicated engineering capacity to build industry-specific capabilities and collaborate with horizontal product teams to ensure end-to-end platform delivery.

Company Description

Meet Unit4. With over 40 years of heritage, we’re an agile, fast growing, Cloud company that is on a mission to redefine Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for mid-market people-centric organisations.

With our innovative, self-driving, adaptive and intuitive software, our customers can spend more time on meaningful high-value work.

At the heart of what we do lies a simple yet profound purpose: Improve how people work by focusing on what truly matters. — A powerful statement that enables different priorities for different people.

We’re shaping how work should feel, and we empower our people by providing them with the right tools to achieve the autonomy they need - it's what makes us unique.

Job Description

The Role

Unit4 serves a global community of professional services organizations - management consultancies, engineering and architectural practices, IT services firms, audit and advisory, and legal services. These businesses run on people: utilization, engagement profitability, and project delivery define how they win or lose. As Product Director for Professional Services, you own the vertical product vision, strategy, and roadmap that makes Unit4 the ERP of choice for mid-market PSOs.

This is not a generalist PM role with an industry overlay. You will have dedicated engineering capacity to build genuine vertical depth in the platform - industry-specific capabilities that horizontal product teams cannot and will not build. You will work in close partnership with horizontal PMs across Financials, HR, Projects, and Procurement to ensure the full platform delivers for PSOs end-to-end. You own the backlog, the outcomes, the roadmap, and the commercial case for why your vertical wins.

AI is actively reshaping how professional services firms operate. The automation of billable work, the compression of traditional T&M models, and the shift toward outcome- and subscription-based pricing are rewriting the economics of the sector. The right candidate understands where these firms are in that journey and what it means for the software they need. You have built enterprise software for PSOs, you know what the best solutions in this space do well and where they fall short, and you can translate an industry in transition into a product roadmap that stays ahead of it.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Professional Services product vision, strategy, and multi-horizon roadmap; align it with Unit4's platform strategy and commercial growth targets.
  • Own feature outcomes, not just delivery — define clear adoption, usage, and customer impact goals for every capability you champion, and track performance against them after launch.
  • Serve as the internal authority on the Professional Services vertical, providing product, marketing, analyst relations, and pre-sales teams with the industry grounding they need to position, demonstrate, and sell effectively.
  • Lead a prioritized product backlog with dedicated engineering capacity - defining outcomes, success metrics, release plans, and quality criteria.
  • Translate deep PSO market knowledge into specific, investment-backed product requirements: opportunity sizing, problem statements, and build-vs-partner decisions.
  • Define industry-specific solution blueprints, reference configurations, and pre-built templates that accelerate customer time-to-value.
  • Act as the vertical voice in planning conversations with horizontal product teams, ensuring PSO requirements are reflected in platform investment.
  • Partner with the Industry Growth Director on launch readiness, pricing, packaging, and field enablement for new capabilities.
  • Engage directly with strategic customers and the PS Industry Board to validate roadmap direction, co-innovate, and generate outcome evidence.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape - know what NetSuite, Workday, Deltek, Kantata, and others are shipping and what it means for Unit4's positioning.
  • Work with partners to extend the value proposition for PSO customers.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven product management experience building enterprise software - ERP, PSA, or enterprise SaaS - for professional services organizations. You have shipped products used by PSOs, not just advised on them.
  • Deep operational knowledge of how PSOs run: pipeline-to-resource-to-revenue, utilization and leverage economics, engagement profitability, billing models, and partner/shareholder economics.
  • Strong command of the core PSO processes your product will need to support: project accounting and billing (including the evolving invoicing landscape as AI reshapes service delivery), project planning and execution, time and expense management, and resource planning across the full jobs-to-be-done of a mid-market professional services firm.
  • A clear point of view on where AI is taking the professional services business model - from the automation of billable work to the rise of outcome- and subscription-based pricing - and what that means for the ERP these firms will need.
  • Commercial orientation: you understand how product decisions drive ARR, win rate, and customer retention.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at C-suite and practitioner level.
